Dominic Perry great report on your journey back! I was the colleague sending messages to Mark Buller Andrew Fallon from Munich. Without going into detail, I had 6 flights booked, 5 flights cancelled, 4 taxi journeys, 3 different airlines, 2 different hotels & a partridge in a. .:) Agree - all first world problems and a lot of people in more difficult situations. But I do have some advice for Lufthansa and Munich Airport: 1. Be prepared - the snow was predicted, this was not a terrorist incident or a sudden earthquake. The airport should have planned better overnight. The queues went all the way around the airport, they should have opened up more F&B / seating areas - people sat on floors. 2. Communicate better - when display screens at the airport all go blank save for a small note saying, airport is closed, no further flights, please arrange for a hotel yourself, It doesn't bode well. Provide meaningful assistance. 3. Provide staff with knowledge / training - Whilst recognising the airline staff are also under stress, they need to remain professional, calm and still provide a service. Some definitely need training in dealing with pressure situations. All good for now, but lessons should be learnt for the next snowfall!
