🏃♂️🏃♀️ Team Spirit at the 30th JP Morgan Corporate Run in Frankfurt! 🌟 On a cloudy day like today, we like to look back at earlier in the summer where Merz runners showcased incredible team spirit at the 30th JP Morgan Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt. This year, 190 Merz employees united to conquer the 5.6 km course through the city center, a significant increase from last year’s 125 participants. But the event was more than just a run; it was a celebration of camaraderie and joy. The energy continued well into the night with a gathering in the courtyard of our main building, complete with DJ and barbeque! It was a fantastic demonstration of why enthusiasm and team spirit are what make Merz a great place to be. The photos speak for themselves! We the TOLL COE 2 CNY Committee are signing of now!!!😁 Firstly, thanking our manager En. Roslan for believing in us that we would be able to manage this event and giving us this opportunity to handle it which taught us many valuable lessons along the way . Nothing is impossible, every is possible once we embark on the journey to solve it. We were a part of purchasing team. Our challenges that we faced were: 1. We had to innovate new ways to decorate our office without nailing or altering the building as per our leasing terms and since we had only procurred the tightest budget in our lives of only Rm150 YouTube became our master to D.I.Y our own props and scout many shops to stretch our budget to enable us to buy major props for the price of a dime🤣 2. We wore the event management Cap of responsibility to adjust, confirm and curate a floor plan in areas of meal allocation to prepare sufficient meals for everyone to prevent any sour experiences🤩🤩to order the meals for CNY Celebration. We were kinda of worried a little for the last minute requests but we succeeded in managing everything perfectly🥳🥳 The learning and teachings we gathered through this journey was; 1. Critical Thinking and Creativite thinking 2. Manage the teams at our workplace as we are employees first and managing the expenses definitely polished our bargaining skills😎 3. Learn how to apply controlling and forecasting skills in real life through our practice of cash flow for gifts, meals, decoration, game prizes and tools 4. Build a good relationship with other departments or teams as we had not known them before this. 5. But the best part of all of this was the support, courage, and warmth we had received from our teammates who are more of friends than our teammates at this stage. Lastly everyone including higher level managers were reminded of their childhood and the laughter, joy and happiness we shared definitely we can’t forget forever Our sincerest apologies for any aspects during CNY celebration today that not meet expectations. Here are some key takeaways: Employee Motivation: Age, particularly among Gen X and Boomers, plays a significant role. Providing experiences that allow employees to showcase their expertise is crucial. Understanding individual needs and fostering a servant heart mentality are also key. Company Goals: Creating a workplace where employees want to stay is essential. This includes focusing on cultivating a culture that supports the company and employee goals. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to moderate an authentic, fun and insightful conversation on life as a black engineer at Goldman Sachs. The conversation was streamed at Black Tech Fest which is the most diverse tech conference in Europe and hosts roughly 6,000 guests across 3 days. The full video can be found here: https://lnkd.in/ebptWXbX It really does feel like yesterday when I walked through the doors of the firm in my shiny suit and tie as an intern… filled with many emotions - joy, nerves but mainly doubt. Doubt with regards to my ability and whether I belonged at such a prestigious firm given my background. Fast forward 8 years since that first day… the doubt that was once within me has not been seen again and never will be. Thankful to all of my colleagues & mentors who have been a part of my journey so far. But most importantly, I’m super grateful for the Black Engineers network at the firm. The amount of growth in the number of black engineers at the firm over the years has been incredible. As a network, we’re breaking barriers and have achieved so much through internal and external initiatives. Best thing about being an active member within the network is knowing that there is a lot more to come. Really looking forward to what’s next! #careers #growth #tech #diversity

Developed brand building campaign for recruitment. ‘One Person Can Make a Difference’ was brought to life by others who had zigged. Tommy Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, Amelia Earhart, Jacques Cousteau and Bill Shankly all zigged in their successful careers.
