To be honest I can be sceptical of badges and awards and the pay to play commercialization of many… so why is this one different? Because, badge or no badge, it's an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the incredible people at Spring and the culture and environment that we’re continually working to create, together. With our rapid growth over the past few years, launching Spring Collective, Spring Activator USA, Spring Impact Capital and acquiring Future Capital, this is by no means a simple or easy journey. And the work never stops. As a purpose driven organisation that supports founders and funders on their own impact journeys, living and breathing our own values is paramount. Over and above our work as a BCorp (B Lab) and 1% for the Planet member, we are constantly reviewing and improving our communication norms; ensuring our policies are relevant to our growing and diverse team; encouraging courageous conversations at all levels; and holding space for both the hard times and good times. When I say ‘we’.... I want to recognize the driving forces in this work: Keith Ippel's vision and insatiable drive to always improve Avary Kent, our daily guide with incredible ability to create psychologically safe spaces and turn tensions into even more productive conversations Heena Narula and Jitender Banga, CPHR, SHRM-CP are the driving forces turning ambitions into reality with the processes and systems that enable us to thrive and I have so much respect for how Marlon Thompson has joined Spring's executive team and is centring relationships as he co-creates an integrated plan between our organisations, building the future of capital.

Spring is one of the few companies where I've felt comfortable being my true Self at work... So much so, I've found myself addressing some of my own biases from previous workplace dynamics and rlly letting a lot of them go. It feels like a combination of faith and inspiration to be able to work with a group of people who are motivating, but also put your past experiences in front of you and make you go "oh... that's why I believed that" or "oh... ya, that is something I need to outgrow". This is a true testament of psychological safety, where old things can come up, but in a safe environment, there is enough support so that you know the old things can be laid to rest. One thing I struggled with in certain environments was competitive energy; it is not a place I thrive in because I believe in "world view philosophies" and find competition counterproductive and v stressful, esp as someone who is in general highly intentional. But at Spring, we are also very intentional, and we know this is the thread that binds us together as a team and to the communities we work in. I also admire how the culture is preserved in a way that is not "guarded", so the openness is still maintained. That balance can sometimes be tricky in a society where we're accidentally conditioned into division, but our team is so diverse that I'm not even sure it is possible.
