Love the whole concept of looking ahead into the future, figuring new trends and behaviours, wants and needs. It's something we're always trying to do in our comms work, however short the period of time, but this talk provided by Ellen Gunning at our recent IPREX Global Communication EMEA meeting looked way ahead 40 years and was more than thought provoking, it was a little mind blowing at times! I may not actually get to see if all the predictions come true but will certainly enjoy watching out for them on the journey ahead! #communications #futurefocus #research

At #AAGConf23, our popular Student and Early Career Group "You Can’t Ask That!" symposium is back! Host: Evonne Miller Topic: How do we connect and break down barriers between disciplines in ageing? Date: Friday 17 November 2023, 1:15 pm to 2:45 pm Different disciplines (art, music, dance, psychosocial and health research, policymaking, and community-based services) often present different views on ageing and ageing services; all crucial to improving and tailoring care for older people and their families. This year, we will explore ways to bring these disciplines together and break down barriers to reimagine ageing. We will look at innovative and tailored services that collaborate and include older people and their families to ensure their needs are met.   We are excited to announce that we have a range of insightful speakers from different disciplines and sectors who will share their ideas, journeys, and experiences in connecting disciplines to better support older people – and even those less successful moments where lessons have been learned along the way. Time to #celebrate Insights Lighthouse! Did you know that we started the #community in January of this year? It's impressive how quickly we are growing and how many incredible #people and #companies support the movement to elevate the #voice of the #Insights and #DataIntelligence industry! When we started, there was a debate about whether to call ourselves "#Insights #Lighthouse" or "#Business #Growth #Lighthouse" to be more explicit and not alienate people… We had the courage to use the term "#insights" as it represents the core of what we do. However, we had to explain to many senior people what "insights" stands for when we ran our first event at the World Economic Forum in #Davos or engage with healthcare representatives and explain our relevance to them. It's incorrect to consider that #insights are mainly linked to marketing or serve the needs of the CPG industry. Insights can be the engine of business growth for any successful company. We are on a mission to make "#insights" the viral definition of business growth and ensure that we are present in healthcare, electronics, design, and many other industries that have not yet fully leveraged insights to their potential.
