On 14th June, volunteers from Nuveen’s Madrid office participated in a team-building event with Prodis to engage with their workers with intellectual disabilities, promoting their social and labor market inclusion. Our employees created notebooks to understand the effort and process Prodis staff undergo. During this event, Prodis employees demonstrated how to make the notebooks, fostering a mutual understanding and partnership. This collaboration helped sensibilize Nuveen for future events, reinforcing our commitment to support Prodis’s mission of providing education and employment opportunities for young people with intellectual disabilities.

Recently over Pride Month, Nuveen committed to partnering with the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT) to support LGBTQ+ young people for at least the next three years. The partnership will see Nuveen provide an annual charitable contribution towards the Trust’s work with LGBTQ+ people aged 16-25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or living in hostile environments around the UK. Melissa St Clair, Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity at Nuveen, said: “This partnership demonstrates Nuveen’s continued commitment to making an impact within the communities where we live and work. The latest partnership on behalf of Nuveen’s Alliance BRG, which has over 160 members across six countries, is the latest in a series of campaigns we have been running to support LGBTQ+ people around the world. “We have launched the contribution this month in honour of Pride Month, which is dedicated to the celebration of LGBTQ+ pride all around the world. It builds on our programme of international events which have included our participation in Pride marches around the world, bake sales, and internal talks educating our community on key issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community.” This is just another way our firm is supporting our commitment to inclusion, diversity and equity around the world.

On 10th May, Nuveen Australia volunteered with IndigiGrow Nursery, a partner with Landcare Australia. IndigiGrow Nursery is a 100% Indigenous Australian owned, run, and staffed not-for-profit Australian native plant nursery, that encourages and educates the wider community on local endangered plant species and how they can help restore this important plant community. Landcare Australia is made up of partners such as IndigiGrow Nursery, and promotes efforts to build dioversity, and resilience in Australia's food and farming systems. The team had a very rewarding volunteer day with IndigiGrow, learning about the native species to the local Sydney area, including the critically endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia Scrub, and their history to Indigenous Australians. Additionally, volunteers assisted with gardening and helping out in the nursery.
