**Did you know who came up with the idea of PICNIC first?** 🌺Well, I got to know the answer when one of my colleagues, in the last activity 'the Googly Round', asked this question during our departmental picnic. 🌺Yesterday, when I went for the picnic with my colleagues, I wasn’t expecting a day I wouldn’t forget easily. We played games, participated in various activities, ate together, and had so much fun. It was a feast I wouldn’t say no to ever. 🌺We got to meet people with whom we were only connected through emails. Putting faces to the email addresses was the highlight for me of that exceptionally invigorating event. 🌺To summarize the elysian day in a passage is a bit difficult. All in all, each and every corner of the venue reverberated with our laughter and the rhythm of our footsteps. 🌺A picnic is a successful way to bring people together. But it’s not the only way. In this learning bite, let’s discuss what other ways we can bring camaraderie to the workplace. 🌺P.S. 🔥 The Power of Spending Time Together as a Team 🔥 Spending time together as a team can have a profound impact on our ability to work together effectively. A fascinating example of this comes from a research study on the cooking practices of firehouse crews. The government initially sought to cut down on expenses, including the tradition of communal chili cooking. However, the research revealed something remarkable – this practice plays a pivotal role in bonding the firefighters into a cohesive team. In addition to the practical aspects of teamwork, there's also something deeply meaningful about the intimacy of eating together. Just like the firefighters who rely on their communal cooking time to bond and understand each other's strengths, office teams also benefit immensely from bonding and developing relationships. When we spend time together, we build trust, learn to anticipate each other's actions, and develop a seamless flow of communication. This enables us to understand each other's strengths, anticipate needs, and ultimately, work together more effectively. When we know each other well, we can create momentum, finish each other's sentences, and seamlessly collaborate to achieve our goals. In the same way that the firefighters rely on their strong bonds to trust and support each other during high-pressure situations, our office teams can cultivate a similar environment of trust, cooperation, and shared purpose. I read this case study back my university days . Now I like to remember the valuable lesson from the firehouse chili cooking practice – spending time together isn't just about fun and relaxation; it's about building the foundation for a strong, cohesive, and high-performing team.
