🖥️ Webinar Replay! The Dual Role of Mast Cells Unveiled! We are thrilled to share the replay of the 7th episode of the Naked Immunology webinar series! In this enlightening session, Prof. Marcus Maurer dives deep into the world of #mastcells as he explores their paradoxical role in our #immunesystem. 🔬 Key Takeaways: Explore the dual role of mast cells in health and disease, highlighting their protective functions against pathogens and their contributions to chronic #inflammatory conditions. Investigate the various methodologies for studying mast cell activation and effects, using in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo approaches across different species. Uncover novel therapeutic strategies aimed at inhibiting, blocking, or depleting mast cells to mitigate their detrimental effects in inflammatory diseases. 🗣 Speaker Spotlight: Prof. Marcus Maurer, a prominent figure from the Institute of Allergology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP, leads the discussion, sharing his extensive expertise and recent findings on the complex roles of mast cells in both promoting health and driving inflammatory diseases. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enhance your understanding of the dual role of mast cells! 🌟 🔗 https://bit.ly/3xzL5pV

What’s new in B cell immunology? We asked our Senior Study Scientist, Dr Luke Muir. 🔬👨🔬 “B cells are key players in the adaptive immune system, protecting against pathogens and helping combat tumour cells. Abnormal B cell responses are implicated in autoimmune disorders, the promotion of pro-tumorigenic environments, and various haematological malignancies. Recently, there's been an emergence of innovative therapeutics targeting specific subsets of B cells. These cutting-edge treatments hold the potential to leverage the capabilities of B cells to eradicate chronic infections and selectively target tumour cells.” Discuss B cells below! ⬇️ #bcells #immunology #cancerresearch #thoughtleaders

Great time at AAI Chicago ! Few take home message and thought: - No need to argue on non-clinical models: clinically and mechanistically relevant models are systematically in complement to human immunology (mouse, ex vivo) - Immunity is underlying numerous diseases mechanisms that must be communicated to the scientific and non-scientific communities. Basal inflammation as a risk factor for instance - Many talks refer to mucosal immunity and microbiota functions. Any distal role of the gut in oncology and vaccination? - Hot topics still are on immunotherapies with next targets that are to be developed by the industry - Clinical immunology deserves more development. Outstanding approaches such as spatial and single cells OMICS are in place but for diagnostic, may go back to the bulk? Looking forward next talks and next congress!

Immunology explores our immune system, a complex and structured network of molecular and cellular components that exploits our immunity, the front-line of defence against external molecules and pathogens. As an Immunology CRO, Cellomatics Biosciences offers well-validated preclinical bioassays to investigate the role of immune cells in regulating key signalling pathways in inflammatory diseases and cancer. One of our strengths is the ability to recruit healthy volunteers. collect peripheral blood and isolate fresh primary immune cells for all downstream functional assays. These models are physiologically relevant and are suitable for low to high throughput immunology studies. Find out more about our Immunology CRO services, and get in touch today for a detailed discussion around your immunology research needs: https://lnkd.in/e8Gufg87 #preclinicalresearch #immunology #bioassays #nottingham

This month, we are excited to present special content on a wide range of exciting topics related to #Immunology. Read reviews, perspectives, research, and more thought-provoking articles on topics ranging from innate immunity to plant immune systems, and from innovative perspectives on immunology to strategies for bacterial detection. First, we continue to celebrate #50YearsofCell with a new anniversary focus issue aimed at inviting you into the world of immunology, whether you regularly ponder the immune system or seldom give it a thought. Explore the issue from Cell: https://lnkd.in/dVwbg9Yx We are also excited to feature content from Immunity and Cell Chemical Biology, both of which are celebrating 30th anniversaries with special issues curated around the topic of immunology. The Immunity issue, published earlier this month, focuses on immune pattern recognition: https://lnkd.in/dez3tcwq And the Cell Chemical Biology issue, publishing in May, delves into inflammasomes and immunoregulation, including a featured review on metabolic rewiring and communication in cancer immunity: https://lnkd.in/diNYV_7D
