What’s it like to do a full day of field reporting for NBC News and MSNBC? Well time feels like it evaporates! I spent the day gathering fresh interviews, following updates and coordinating with different shows to report on the recent heat wave in the tri-state area. Our team wrapped the day with 7 live hits from Coney Island. Very thankful to be working with such incredible producers and a talented crew for the day. • 3 Quick tips for field reporting: 🔹Never refuse water or a chance to eat, sometimes it can be a while before you find an open window to refuel. 🔹Stay aware of your surroundings as much as possible, stay safe and trust your gut! 🔹Be proactive and flexible, the more organized and efficient you can be with your time the easier your day will be. These are great insights! Thank you for reporting on the issue of heat waves as they can be dangerous and spreading information can help people stay safe! What keeps you professional and motivated when you have to report in such extreme conditions? In other words, what makes it all worth it?

The taking a chance to get a drink or eat when you can is by far the number one tip that can be given. There’s been times where I’m getting a lunch break two hours into my shift and I’m thinking it’s too early to eat, I just barely started, but then the day gets so busy or there’s breaking news that you get stuck at and then you just lost your opportunity. A summer field reporting tip is bring sunscreen! I was stuck on an officer involved shooting in the direct sun for 6 hours.. let’s just say I went home looking like a tomato that day.
