One quick word of advice to publicists: before you send an email to a podcast asking for them to feature your client as a guest, listen to at least one episode of the podcast and make sure your guest is a good fit for their show and their audience. At Tumble, I field about three emails a week from publicists seeking to get people on our show. And it's always clear that none of them have even looked at our website, let alone listened to the show. That's not a recipe for success.

You and Your mind are two different entities! Let me explain why i say this first. The first voice in your mind , if it says no, then it's a NO. In the last few years, whenever I ignored this voice and went ahead and convinced my mind to do it, it has never turned out as expected. Your mind knows things better than you do! Listen to it. and Yes, you and your mind are 2 different entities! It's like this Dual camera capture. One is a selfie. one is the front camera. Your mind is the selfie. The front cam is what your eyes see. Don't reflect the world in your actions like your eyes. Reflect what your mind says. Your mind is your best friend. Started pondering over this specific point of mind after the podcast with a client and friend Prasanna Jagannathan PivotwithPJ! Of the many things we discussed that day, this stuck a chord with My mind and hence the post!

How to be a great podcast guest in 4 easy steps: ✅ Sound good. Have a decent mic, wear headphones, record from a quiet location, and turn off your notifications! ✅ Do show up ready and on time. Being prepared goes a long way. ✅ Do know your audience. Understand the show’s primary audience so you can gear your answers to the right listener. ❌ Don’t do the host’s job. Offering talking points is fine. If the host tries to get you to suggest questions, respectfully decline. Being a great guest doesn’t take a lot of extra work but the benefits go a long way.
