In many ways, I'm the opposite of my clients. ☯️ And that's why we work so well together. 🚀 My clients can hop on stage (or in front of a camera) and speak effortlessly as the audience is engaged by their every word. 🎤 I go into panic mode when trying to share my screen on Zoom... with one other person. 🙈 But I can make sure that that on-stage event runs like clockwork. My clients can come up with genius insights, ideas, and solutions on the spot. 💡 I need a hot meal, a walk, and to be left for several hours before I can articulate my own thoughts. 🤔 But I can take their genius ideas and make them happen in a flash. My clients come up with amazing metaphors to simplify the most complex explanations so that they stick in people's minds. 🌟 Today I described myself as that product you pour down the sink when it's blocked 😕 Moral of the story. Be YOU. Do what YOU do best. Because we all need each other to work at OUR best.

From 2-minute pitches to 9-hour TV shows, we use one starting point and one meta frame only; Hook - Sandwich - Call to Action What’s a sandwich? Here's the definition from our workbook: A sandwich is a device that consists of multiple stories weaved together and a money shot. It is designed to bust objections if you are selling or remove ignorance if you are teaching. It's one of the easiest ways to speak without a script for any length of time and always know exactly where you are and where you're going without forgetting important information and leading the audience in the right direction every step of the way. Think hook… followed by two transformational stories with the necessary perceptions, beliefs and internal changes embedded within them… That prepare the audience for a demonstration, an exercise, an experience, a magic moment, a powerful stat or quote. Followed by a call back to the second story. Then a call back to the first story. And then a powerful recap tying the hook to the final call to action stack. Six-year-old me would vehemently disagree with this post. 🙅♂️ Standing in front of my first-grade class, terrified of giving a presentation, I never imagined I'd fall in love with the craft. I’m often asked, "What’s your prep like?" So today, I’m sharing the approach I took for the presentation I’m giving tomorrow: 🔹 One week out - A full practice run to refresh and update. It’s about getting reacquainted with my message. 🔹 Three days before - It’s not just about the words; it’s how you deliver them. Stories, pauses, movements - I practice them all to ensure they feel natural, yet impactful. 🔹 Two days out - Another practice. Each run-through sharpens my delivery, making the message clearer, the impact stronger. 🔹 The night before, 6 PM - Final rehearsal. This is where it all comes together. The fine-tuning session that ensures every part of the presentation is polished to perfection. 🔹 Morning of - I address any rough spots from the night before. It’s my last chance to refine and adjust, ensuring everything flows seamlessly. To my audience, it’s looks effortless. But behind the scenes? It’s a culmination of dedicated preparation and practice. A new day has dawned and as I squint at the sun peeking through my blinds (and yes, the smell of coffee is a great motivator), I'm thinking about how to make our next training session a smash hit. Here's my game plan: What's the Deal Today? First things first, I need to pick our topic for the day - it's like picking the right playlist for my morning run. It has to match our goals and what you guys need to learn. The Golden Rules: Up next is jotting down our do's and don'ts. Picture this like our very own 'constitution' for the session. It sets the mood right and makes sure we’re all on the same page. Just like that favorite restaurant where everyone knows your order, we want a space where everyone feels at home. Choosing our Ride: Now, picking the right platform is kinda like choosing the right car for a road trip. You wouldn't take a sports car off-roading, would you? Whether it's Zoom, Teams, or a fancy new app, the goal is to pick what works best for all of us. Let's Not Yawn: To keep things spicy, I'm tossing in some interactive elements. It’s like a game of bingo, you never know when your number’s up! Breakout discussions, quizzes, you name it - the key is to keep everyone on their toes. Your Two Cents Matter: Lastly, and most importantly, I’m all about feedback. You’ve got something to say, I’m all ears. This way, our sessions can keep getting better - kind of like fine-tuning a recipe, adding a pinch of this, a dash of that! So, that's my strategy!
