Another step towards detecting AI video… “…the method operates on the hypothesis that reconstructed images generated by diffusion models should closely resemble each other because they are sampled from the diffusion process distribution. If there are significant alterations, the original video is likely human-generated. If not, it is likely AI-generated.” I'm interested how this method compares to approaches like Binoculars, which I wrote about earlier this year. I haven't taken a deep dive on this so I'm not entirely clear on the details. Still, it's promising to see research into AI detection continues at a speedy. pace. https://lnkd.in/gYp5CVXv

In the realm of artificial intelligence, an interesting development has emerged: researchers have introduced an "inner monologue" to AI systems, enhancing their performance. At Pivotal, we see the value in such advancements, acknowledging the subtle yet significant steps forward they represent in making AI more reflective and capable. Incorporating these insights into our AI and ML projects, we aim to develop solutions that are not only advanced but also more intuitive and responsive to complex scenarios. https://lnkd.in/eDky5gdm

With ~93% effectiveness, scientists are using #ai to forensically detect #deepfakes created by AI; I know it's necessary. Most are aware of the fact that as text-to-video generators grow in popularity, so will the misuse of this technology. That said, is this a bit like the proverbial self-licking ice cream cone, or is it just me?
