Executive Business Advisor | Transforming Company Challenges into Profit with Strategic Supply Chain Solutions and Digital Innovations
In my experience within Supply Chain Management, I have gained invaluable insights that have shaped my approach to leading successful teams in this dynamic field. First and foremost, the diversity of individuals within a supply chain team is a powerful asset. Each team member brings a unique set of skills and perspectives that, when leveraged effectively, can drive innovation and efficiency throughout the supply chain process. Secondly, clear communication is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of a supply chain. Given the complexity of the global supply chain landscape, it is crucial to communicate expectations and requirements clearly and consistently to all stakeholders involved. Lastly, the collaborative nature of supply chain management cannot be understated. No one person can successfully manage the intricate web of suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and logistics partners alone. By fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration, supply chain managers can optimise processes, mitigate risks, and drive overall success. In conclusion, these three key observations - recognising diversity, prioritising clear communication, and embracing collaboration - are fundamental principles that underpin effective Supply Chain Management. By incorporating these insights into your leadership approach, you can empower your team to navigate the complexities of the supply chain landscape with agility and success. I’ve spent my career in a variety of industries, locations and roles, including my earliest positions at a pulp & paper plant, and a wafer manufacturing facility– it was fascinating! Yet no matter where I’ve worked, I’ve constantly encountered the same problem among organizations – People try to adopt new technologies or data processes without considering the expertise of the human beings at the center of their orgs. What do I mean by that? As leaders, we have the opportunity to share the load and responsibility for change. It’s on us to reinforce ingenuity among our team and listen to them. When they suggest actions, let the action happen. There’s nothing more stifling than empowering people to speak up, then turning around and not following through with their suggestions. That’s the fastest way to lose really good talent. The way to build better, more innovative systems is by involving diverse mindsets in the discussion – people who think differently, who bring different backgrounds and experiences to the table – and encouraging their contributions. Not just asking for ideas, but implementing them. Not just addressing challenges with an advisory group, but looping in a variety of team members to consider unique, holistic, and creative solutions. This democratizes the process of institutional change. And as a leader, it lessens the burden on your shoulders – many hands make light work. #CultureShift #Leadership #Empowerment #TechIndustry

Stand out supplychain leadership must look beyond tactical achievements. No one will criticise low cost, quality and timely management but there's more to it these days. Global supply chains are in a state of flux. Business and consumers are placing more focus on ethical and environmentally friendly buying, against a backdrop of geopolitics and supplier consolidation. Pause for breath! And that's where the focus of leadership must be. Building skills, organisation and practices to deal with these multiplying factors. All the while deploying technology, process and applying assurance to keep business as usual healthy. At the same time integrating new practices to successfully effect business as usual. This all takes a certain mindset. One which adopts new world thinking through recruiting and nurturing new world thinkers. To succeed cannot be done in isolation from the wider business. Those same leaders must create ecosystems across stakeholders.Bringing recognition and sponsorship to what great supplychain management delivers. It also requires building or being part of communities of interest. After all, why do all this and not look to influence the market in some way? An integrated catalyst to change programmes, sales and customer strategies and of course product management. Moving the operation from a basis of the "last to know" to the forward position which feeds the future dynamic of the business! #leadership #procurement #contractmanagement #supplychain #technology #sales #customer #ai #strategy #executive #innovation #recruitment #talent #stakeholders #executiveleadership #organisation
