Drug product life cycle management refers to the strategic and dynamic process through which pharmaceutical companies optimize the entire life span of a medicinal product, from its initial development and regulatory approval to its eventual obsolescence. This comprehensive approach involves a series of coordinated activities, encompassing continuous research and development, clinical trials, market launch, post-marketing surveillance, and eventual phase-out or reformulation. By embracing a well-structured life cycle management strategy, pharmaceutical companies can adapt to changing market dynamics, address emerging patient needs, comply with evolving regulations, and extend the commercial viability of their products, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and sustaining business growth in the highly competitive pharmaceutical landscape.
