New pipelines to move Permian NGLs are in the works, but this time the barrels are not going to the storage and fractionation hub in Mont Belvieu. It’s another episode in the ongoing saga of two non-Mont Belvieu pipelines and related infrastructure projects that provide alternative markets to Permian producers: EPIC to Corpus Christi, and BANGL to Sweeny and beyond. In today’s RBN blog, we’ll look at how these developments could affect NGL flows in the Lone Star State. https://lnkd.in/gDWUGACF

"Natural gas production in the Permian Basin has risen sharply in recent years, often as fast as long-haul pipeline capacity exiting the basin can be built." Texas is blessed with a remarkably efficient #pipeline #permitting process that minimizes opportunity for bureaucratic interference and maximizes the #opportunity for expansion to keep pace with the rapid #growth of the state. The #TexasMiracle exists in more ways than one, and we are so fortunate to not be stifled by the onerous federal regulatory scheme that interstate projects in multiple #energysectors have to face. Regulatory uncertainty and interference chill #investment, #innovation, and #progress. https://lnkd.in/gxdDBiyJ

The Permian Basin’s oil and gas activity in 2022 generated over $18.4 Billion in state revenue for Texas and $6.1 billion for New Mexico. These funds support infrastructure, public schools and teachers, police and fire departments, community hospitals, universities, and other essential services for the states. The revenue generated for the state will continue to increase as the economic activities in the Permian grow! #PowerofthePermian

‘Gas Is Ready to Flow’ At long last the day has arrived. Ten years after the project was first proposed, the 304-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline is ready to hang an Open for Business sign as it awaits the final FERC greenlight, which could happen at any time. During that glorious moment when the first of 2 BCFD of Appalachian gas starts flowing from northwestern W.V. to southern Va., shippers will rejoice, senators will slap palms, and the JV parties behind the whole ordeal will breathe a collective sigh of relief, then toss back a few. Well deserved. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest in pipeline news, starting with MVP, which requested an in-service authorization today. After a decade of delays and count battles, the cost of the project is visiting the $7.85 billion neighborhood. Moving mountains in the East doesn’t come cheap or fast. Some have suggested the greenfield interstate pipeline could well be the last there. But after paying high premiums for gas supply and power generation over the last several years, end-users are weeping with joy. Meanwhile Permian producers are checking their watches for completion of the Matterhorn Express. With linefill expected in July, the 580-mile natural gas pipeline will flow 2.5 BCFD from West Texas to the Katy Hub, offering an Alka Seltzer for producers struggling to move record volumes of residual gas amid current takeaway constraints. But that plop-plop, fizz-fizz relief is only temporary, expected to last until the end of next year or so. For now, other Permian natgas pipe projects lay fancied out on the whiteboard. In development, yes, but still waiting on FIDs—especially on those major greenfield builds that can take two years to complete. There’s more to share on this and other pipeline news tomorrow, so stay tuned. We are pleased to announce the completion of our maiden internal Prospective Resource estimate for Project Leonis, revealing an impressive 381 million barrels (MMbbls) of oil (net mean, unrisked) recoverable from the Upper Schrader Bluff Formation (USB). Key Highlights: ➡️ Total estimated net mean Prospective Resource of 381 MMbbls of oil. ➡️ Unrisked net 3U (high) of 671 MMbbls, 2U (best) of 338 MMbbls, and 1U (low) of 167 MMbbls. ➡️ Permitting and planning commenced for the Tiri-1 exploration well targeting the USB Formation. ➡️ Exceptional estimated porosity of nearly 30% over 175 feet of interpreted pay. ➡️ Ongoing farm-out process to secure a funding partner for drilling. Strategically located on the North Slope of Alaska with TAPS running through our acreage and Deadhorse just six miles to the North, Project Leonis is a significant resource and development opportunity. Our efforts are now fully focused on advancing Project Leonis and Project Phoenix, with key milestones anticipated in the next 6 to 12 months.
