🌿💼 ESG Management in the Korean Cosmetics Industry 💄🌍 In a recent survey conducted by South Korea Beauty News, a leading beauty publication celebrating its 31st anniversary, 89 beauty industry experts evaluated the #ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices of cosmetic companies. Here are the key findings: 🌱 Environmental Protection (LG Household & Health Care, Ltd. ): LG Household & Health Care received the highest evaluation in the #environmental #protection. The company's efforts in #climatechange policies, #ecofriendly business practices such as waste management, #recycling, and preservation of #naturalhabitats and #biodiversity were highly recognized! 🤝 Social Contribution (AMOREPACIFIC Group): Amorepacific Group was acknowledged as the frontrunner in #social contribution. Part of our commitment as a “Société à mission” at Serena includes 🌱 advancing ESG, climate, diversity, and inclusion best practices across our portfolio 🔍 monitoring the social and environmental performance of our portfolio companies. To translate this commitment into action, we embed sustainability clauses into our shareholder agreements. These clauses focus on: ♻️ ESG Monitoring: within six months of receiving an investment, the company commits to identifying sustainability priority action areas, which will be reviewed during board meetings. Annually, the company will report to the board on the specific actions taken throughout the year. 🟰 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I): we promote the adoption of DE&I policies, the appointment of D&I leads, the implementation of dedicated training, the implementation of inclusive recruitment practices, and progress tracking with robust KPIs.   🌥️ Climate Action: our companies must conduct annual carbon footprint assessments and set CO2 greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions reduction targets. Our process unfolds in three steps: 1️⃣ First, we raise D&I and ESG awareness among founders.  2️⃣ Next, we confirm their understanding, offering to plan ESG/D&I post-investment. 3️⃣ Lastly, we integrate ESG checks into agreements before investing, with a delay if not properly executed.
