What’s the most common neurological disorder? 🧠 Yes, exactly, it‘s Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)! 💥About 70 million individuals are affected every year around the world. 💥Many individuals with TBI experience longterm symptoms which includes an increased risk for later onset neurodegenerative diseases. 💥TBI research has made significant progress over the past years. But little has been implemented into clinical practice. Today is World Brain Day 2023. 👈🏻 Let’s celebrate today by joining forces. 🚀 Tomorrow marks the 12th edition of Innovation Labs Romania Final and Gala. Today, we discussed many important aspects about the #EHDS at a workshop organized by #NeuroCOV. From involvement of citizens to data solidarity, from opt-out regulations to incentives. The oppertunities for Europe are enormous, given that the technical innovations for the best data use are enabled during the next two decades. I am convinced that we need joined efforts for building toolkits for standardization, harmonization, data privacy or security, centrally organized. At the same time, as health data are produced in a very decentralized fashion, I am in favor of systems that allow decentralized data visiting rather than centralized data uploading and sharing. There I see enormous potential for network systems that enable many more stakeholders to contribute and benefit. This will also be more democratic, foster solidarity and equitability. With further developing Swarm Learning we will contribute to a networked and decentralized Healthcare system. I thank all who joined our workshop today for this very productive and enlightening day.

RBB's Nuno Alvim is delighted to be participating in a panel discussion that will focus on the Digital Markets Act (DMA) from the Member State perspective at this upcoming European Competition Lawyers Association (ECLA). The DMA imposes a whole host of new and complex regulatory obligations on designated Gatekeepers. The panel will discuss some potential implications at the Member State level, including how the European Commission will measure compliance with and detect infringements of the DMA and what role (if any) the Member States will play in that; the potential interplay between the DMA and Article 22 TFEU; the possibility of parallel investigations under national law in light of bpost and Nordzucker; and the scope for private enforcement of the DMA in the national courts. #CompetitionLaw #DigitalMarketsAct #DMA
