Marcelino Alvarez’s Post

Chief Executive Officer at Photon Marine

I wanted to express my gratitude for the opportunity to share some thoughts on how to bridge the digital divide at the The Oregon Community Foundation's Conexiones event in Lincoln City earlier this week. As we think about the challenges faced by rural and Latine communities, ensuring equitable access to broadband, tools, resources, and technology is just the starting point. Meeting people where they are and adapting programs to suit their needs gets us closer to bridging the divide, but it's not enough. I really enjoyed the conversation and sharing the stage with my co-panelist Herbert Beauclere. Thank you to Stephen Green for the invitation to share my story and current digital toolset. "It's hard to be what you don't see." I think the journey in closing the wealth gap starts with shining a light on the greatness we already have in our community. Keep building my friend and thanks for joining us.

I saw Juan Barraza yesterday Invent Oregon and we were talking about you and @PhotonMarine. I mentioned that you had shared all the impressive progress at the Portland Seed Fund annual meeting.
