City of Mansfield Cultural Arts to Receive $40,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts Mansfield, TX —The City of Mansfield is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Grants for Arts Projects award of $40,000. This grant, along with the city’s matching $40,000, will support the city’s new public art program. This grant will lead to a significant piece of public art being commissioned, fabricated and installed by no later than early 2026. The City of Mansfield will soon be announcing opportunities for resident feedback on what kind of public art they want to see through this new program. Establishing a robust public art program is one of the four goals of the Mansfield Cultural Arts Master Plan, which you can read here: https://lnkd.in/eegGcgmb “We are so excited to receive this amazing grant from the NEA,” said Rosalie Gilbert, Manager of Arts and Events Services. “We are planning public outreach events over the summer to understand best where and what kind of art our residents want to see around Mansfield with a call for art in late 2024 or early 2025.” In total, the NEA will award 1,135 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling more than $37 million as part of its second round of fiscal year 2024 grants. “Projects like Mansfield’s public art program exemplify the creativity and care with which communities are telling their stories, creating connection, and responding to challenges and opportunities in their communities—all through the arts,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD.
