The Olympics Are Coming... And We Want To Lube Them Up The Olympic Games are a celebration of the peak performance of the human body – something that we as the sexual happiness people can wholeheartedly relate to! With the world watching as Paris 2024 draws nearer, we would love to show our support for this stellar global event in our own way – by enriching the happiness and sexual health of those involved. Since the 1988 Olympic Games hosted in Seoul, South Korea, the Olympic Committee has been providing athletes in the Olympic village with free condoms, a vital, health-forward and sex-positive gesture – and this year, Lovehoney are extending an offer that, surely, nobody could refuse? Lovehoney is offering a generous quantity of our high-quality water-based lubricant to the Olympic village to ensure that athletes can have safe – and most importantly, enjoyable – sex and pleasure in 2024. Lovehoney’s CEO Johannes Plettenberg stated in an open letter to Laurent Michaud, Director of the Olympic and Paralympic Village: “By providing both condoms and lubricant, we can further support the well-being of all athletes, ensuring they have the resources they need to enjoy intimate moments to their fullest, safely and comfortably. This proposal is extended with the utmost respect for the athletes and the spirit of the Games. We believe in supporting peak performance, both on the field and in more private moments, with a touch of humor to lighten the mood in the highly competitive atmosphere of the Olympics.”

NOCS AROUND THE WORLD CELEBRATE OLYMPIC DAY 2024 ANOC today joins NOCs around the world in celebrating Olympic Day 2024 as NOCs host participation events to encourage people to move together. This year’s Olympic Day theme, Let’s Move and Celebrate, aims to ignite a collective passion for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 by encouraging people to get active and feel connected through sport. Launched in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) on Olympic Day 2023, Let’s Move is an ongoing initiative spearheaded by the IOC that invites everyone to make time for movement every day. Last year, it led more than 15 million people to embrace the joy of incorporating 30 minutes of daily physical activity into their lives. With people more likely to maintain consistent exercise routines when activities are enjoyable and accessible, and research by WHO finding that 81 per cent of adolescents are not active enough for their health, Let’s Move and Celebrate aims to make sport feel more natural, inclusive and fun. Along with the activities organised by NOCs around the world to commemorate Olympic Day 2024, the IOC is bringing sport and social media together to create a different experience. As part of Let’s Move and Celebrate, everyone is encouraged to show their support for athletes at the Games by creating, or recreating, their own iconic celebration moves, and to share these online with @Olympics and #LetsMove.

🌍 Breaking News: International Olympic Committee Announces Hijab Inclusion at Athlete's Village for Paris 2024 Olympics 🏅 In a progressive move, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has officially declared that athletes will be allowed to wear the hijab within the athletes' village during the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris. This decision signifies a significant step toward inclusivity and diversity within the global sporting community. However, it is crucial to address the dichotomy between this announcement and the ongoing ban imposed by French Olympic authorities, prohibiting their athletes from wearing the hijab during competition. The French ban, ostensibly rooted in the principle of secularism, raises important questions about the consistency of policies governing athletes' attire at the Olympic Games. While the IOC's decision to permit hijabs in the athletes' village is a commendable stride toward inclusivity, it is puzzling and even counterproductive to allow this freedom within the village while simultaneously denying athletes the right to wear the hijab during competition. This inconsistency highlights a glaring contradiction within the Olympic ethos, one that undermines the principles of fairness, equality, and respect for diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. The Olympic Games are a celebration of unity, excellence, and the inherent human spirit that transcends borders and boundaries. It is a platform where athletes from all corners of the world come together to showcase their talents and represent their nations. Therefore, any form of discrimination based on attire, religion, or cultural identity goes against the very essence of the Games. The hijab is a religious and cultural symbol for many Muslim athletes, and it should be treated with the same respect as any other aspect of an athlete's identity. To restrict athletes from wearing the hijab during competition is to deny them the freedom to express their beliefs and fully participate in the Olympics. It sends a message that some forms of diversity are more acceptable than others, which is contrary to the spirit of the Olympic movement. As we look forward to the Paris 2024 Olympics, it is our hope that the IOC, in collaboration with host countries and national Olympic committees, will work toward a unified policy that upholds the principles of diversity, respect, and inclusion for all athletes. Let us use the power of sport to bridge divides and showcase the beauty of our shared humanity. #TheOlympics #OlympicGames #Inclusivity #DiversityInSport #France #HijabInSport #Equality #Paris2024 #AthleteRights #IOC #Muslims #francehijabban #sports #inspire #empower

In the lead-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, the ASF's 2023 Your Sport Your Say survey results are more relevant than ever. It’s no secret that sport in Australia is underfunded and our athletes are faced with significant financial pressures. For many, this has a flow-on effect on their mental health, can impact their families' financial security, and even jeopardises our athletes' abilities to stay in the sports they have dedicated so much of their lives to. The latest from Olympic and Paralympic sport powering positive change… 🛶 Congratulations to our colleagues at British Canoeing for being shortlisted for the ‘Sport for Change’ award at this year’s SJA British Sports Awards! Even though they didn’t win the award last night, it’s great recognition to see Olympic and Paralympic sport and a Major Event being recognised for its efforts in creating sustained impact. One piece of said impact was to remove junk and invasive non-native species from the River Lee Navigation - approx 15 tonnes so far! 🦽 To celebrate International Day of Disabled People, leaders from across government, sport and the charity sector gathered at Parliament for a co-hosted parliamentary roundtable discussion. Pleased to say current Powered by Purpose athletes Jake Wood and Floran Steeples were in attendance and part of the roundtable discussion. The event having a clear call to action for the government to review and make necessary changes to the system to enabled disabled people to be active in all aspects of their lives. 🤰 The UK Sports Institute Female Athlete Health and Performance Team have released a new podcast series. The 6 episode series sees everything from perimenopause, periods, menstrual cycle tracking, sports bras, pregnancy and pelvic floor health covered. This award was in recognition for Dan’s commitment to making combat sport more accessible through his charity, GNR8 Academy. In his own words ‘Being given the opportunity to perform in my sport isn’t an opportunity I can give back, but it’s an opportunity to enable young people to do the best they can and see all the benefits of sport that I have. Please meet the Olympic torch 🔥 I captured this in Sanofi Headquarters, after several days of Team meeting (Face2Face to boot 😁). Olympic Games are bringing the world together, united in the moment, all eyes and minds in sync. I felt that way during those few days, with my whole team (France 🇫🇷 , USA 🇺🇸, Russia 🇷🇺 and Hungary 🇭🇺 were proudly represented). I didn’t expect the emotional connection. It has been a long time since I felt so close to my colleagues (hello Covid 🦠). It’s not only about being in the same room though. It’s being in a safe place where you can be your(best)self. It’s amazing what a few days of openness can do. I was deeply missing it, more than I realized. I love my job, but when you work with strong and caring people you can look up to, it just get better. So big shout out to Hermina Fülöpné Szerényi , Levente Antal Szava, Sudhir S., François GIORDANO, Rana Haydar, Valérie Barbey, Jürgen Maslo, Eric Pinatel, Anastasia Nakleskina, Dounia Belhimer and Joachim Lopez. I’m amazed by all your achievements, personal and professional, the way you overcame hardship and made the most of it, give your free time to care about others, family or community. The motto of the Olympic Games is Citius - Altius - Fortius (Faster - Higher - Stronger). This encounter was worth a million pages of self-development books. I hope I’ll get to that high level of clarity about my own life balance some days. You definitely made me stronger for realizing this was a goal I must focus on, to become the best version of myself. #sanofistories #ExploreMore #PursueProgress #selfdevelopment #Paris2024 #Olympicspirit

Women first competed in the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900. Before this, the founder of the Olympics thought that women's participation would be "impractical, uninteresting, unaesthetic and improper." (ouch) The IOC (International Olympic Committee), however, strongly fought to include women and thus, women competed in the Paris Olympics in 1900. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, the IOC has pushed for parity. Out of the 10,500 athletes participating in the Games, there will be 5,250 men and 5,250 women. And while there are some Muslim countries that continue to not allow women to compete, the overall progress is phenomenal. The key is media coverage, because coverage leads to viewership, which leads to sponsor dollars. In an IOC 2021 report, the IOC discovered that 4% of sports Olympic media content focused on women athletes and women were 20% of accredited media professionals. Not ideal. However, women in the US control over 85% of consumer spending. It will be interesting to see what happens this year.
