The moment at an Networking Event when you are supposed to introduce yourself and you have no clue how?... I have been struggling in the past with phrasing the work I am doing into an actual discipline and job profile. From Generalist to Advisor or Hospitality Professional, I finally understood that I am a “Placemaker”. 📍 What is placemaking for me? Placemaking is a methodology that focuses on the people who use a space. The idea is to create places that go beyond being functional, they are experience-led to nurture inspiration and collaboration. From now on, I am excited to share my journey into placemaking, and provide insights into the process, science and profitability behind placemaking. I will emphasize on profitability a lot, as many community spaces fail to create a sustainable business model out of it. Let's shape the future of experience-led spaces together!🌿 Are there any specific topics or questions you would be interested in? Have you seen spaces or places that stuck with you and we could look into as a use case? #Placemaking #Innovationspaces #biophilicdesign #communitybuilding #spacemaking #hospitality #experienceeconomy

#BeyondtheSURface: Surprising things you can do to boost your building performance. 2. 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 👩🏻🤝🧑🏻 “A building is just a shell. It is the people that give it life.” In today’s dynamism of cities and communities, creating places where people feel a sense of belonging is so important. Placemaking is a proactive, people-centered process of deepening the character and quality of place. Through placemaking, we aim to foster a sense of identity, giving people additional reasons to come to the office, and stay beyond work hours for personal well-being. Sustainable Urban Renewal (SUR) deploys placemaking strategies to increase footfall, dwell time and establish the identity of a place to retain customers and tenants.

--- 📚🌸 **The Harmony of Knowledge and Nature** 🌸📚 Just as placing a flower between the pages of a book creates a timeless keepsake, we can enhance our surroundings by blending knowledge with nature. This beautiful synergy not only enriches our minds but also revitalizes our environments. Imagine This: 1. Nature-Inspired Workspaces: - 🟩Green Walls: Integrate vertical gardens in your office to foster a refreshing atmosphere and improve air quality. - 📗Botanical Libraries: Create reading nooks surrounded by plants, where the scent of flowers mingles with the wisdom of the books. 2. Outdoor Learning Spaces: - 🖼Garden Classrooms: Conduct meetings or brainstorming sessions in a garden. The tranquility of nature can stimulate creativity and clear thinking. - 🌸Nature Trails with Informative Placards: Combine walking paths with informational stops about local flora and fauna, making your strolls both enlightening and rejuvenating. 3. Knowledge-Powered Gardens: - 🎍Herb Gardens with QR Codes: Each plant can have a QR code that, when scanned, provides detailed information about its uses and benefits. - 🌱Scientific Garden Tours: Offer guided tours that explain the science behind plant growth, encouraging a deeper appreciation for nature. Embracing this fusion of knowledge and nature can transform our daily lives. It not only makes our spaces more aesthetic but also nurtures our minds and souls. Let's create environments where learning and nature coexist beautifully. 🌿✨ #AestheticLiving #NatureAndKnowledge #GreenSpaces #InnovativeWorkspaces #SustainableLiving

There are lot’s of placemaking diagrams detailing considerations when developing place, they look at strategic, creative and tactical placemaking approaches. What interests us is the human centred factors. A good place-feel is the unsung hero of successful spaces, it's where people associate positive reactions to their experience in a place. Place-feel is therefore always evolving based on an individual’s context, every space you visit whether new or familiar, you are building up your repertoire of memories which will form the ideas you feel about a space. So if place-feel is something we sense and experience, then who are the people that can affect that, and how do they make a direct impact on the way people feel? Christopher Laing, Tonkin Liu, Pete Swift, Atul Bansal MA FRSA, Jon Humphreys, Ciaron Wilkinson, Richard Goldthorpe CMLI, Chithra Marsh #placefeel #creativeexploration

REDUCE CABIN FEVER I enjoyed a beautiful cup of coffee in my favorite coffee shop this morning surrounded by Greek instrumental music, soft lighting, warm toned furniture and the smell of savory crepes. All of my senses enjoyed stepping away from my home office. Cabin fever can get to us #edge and #remoteworkers where the lines blur between working in our living space and living in our working space. A few benefits from a change of scenery are: 👉 Physically leaving the home can create a clear separation between work and life 👉 Exposure to new surroundings can spark creative thinking and problem-solving 👉 Observing people, architecture, nature, or cultural elements can provide us with new inspiration Comment below on your favorite way to reduce cabin fever! #balancedlifestyle #worklifeintegration #senses #creativityandinnovation

We did it!!! After two years of hard work, we are finally done. Transformed a historic stone house in Italy’s Vallingegno – the “Valley of Genius”, believe it or not – into a place that celebrates big ideas. A place that provides guests with the time and space to focus on whatever is important to them and create something brilliant. What did it take? Restoring the house, renovating three apartments, making 1.287.348 decisions on everything from layout to grout color (in the process of which our hair color decided grey was its favourite), designing workspaces, building a garden that’s worthy of its name, lots of tears, setting up terraces, planting 300 olive trees, countless sleepless nights, building a vegetable garden including green houses, navigating Italian bureaucracy, questioning my sanity, and even kicking off an olive oil production. A journey of ups and downs, wins and losses – but now it’s here and it’s open! What’s it’s about? During my time in the corporate world, I longed for a space away from the chaos, chores, interruptions, distractions and noise of an open-plan office - a space to think, to create, to tackle challenges head-on. So now, Suflora offers a haven for thinkers and creators. A space where guests can dive into their work with no interruptions. A space where the tranquility and creativity-inspiring aspects of nature flirt shamelessly with the tech needed for deep, focused work. Diving deeper into their projects than ever before and emerge with outcomes that make every cell in their body buzz with that electrifying energy of kickass achievement. It’s about recharging batteries, but not with that old “rest-and-relax” strategy, but with the excitement of their very own brilliance in action – turning every project into a masterpiece. To everyone who’s been part of this journey: A huge thank you! Especially to Alexander Sucrow, Ulrike Leinemann, Thomas Gutschi for photos, Matthias Peper for more support anyone could ever hope for, and Marina Goldmann for emotional support and hands-on support with the olive harvests!
