🎓 19th March marked the culmination of my 2 years and 3 months Master’s degree journey. A journey that lasted slightly longer than anticipated but has enriched me beyond expectations. Indeed, I'm deeply grateful to have persevered and reached this milestone, even amidst unexpected twists and turns that also ended up influencing my academic journey. With the determination of one who is purpose-driven, I pressed forward towards my goals and, alongside my studies, I had the privilege of immersing myself in various professional experiences, each serving as a necessary piece in the greater puzzle of my journey. ®️Starting from my first actual job experience as back office employee at Ruffini Ponchiroli e Associati 📲 To getting to know more about the media world and becoming team supervisor and content director of the Milan branch of Kingdom Ambassadors Centre 🇺🇳 To becoming board member and social media manager at the Milan branch of MSOI - UNYA Italy 🔶 This paved the way for my comms internship at Oasis Belgium 🇪🇺 And most recently, I’ve continued along the communications path with European Alternatives. Little did I realize at the outset that each of these and several other experiences would serve as a stepping stone to the next. What remained constant was my focus on the one who drives my “why” and the desire and will to pursue what was unfolding before me. Reflecting on this couple of years, I can say that focus and persistence are key. Whether your path is already clear or becoming clearer along the journey, stay committed, stay resilient, and keep pushing forward. Clarity often emerges from the process itself. Keep pushing. You've got this! #solideogloria

From Portugal to the world ✈🌎 A week ago, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in one of the biggest events in the floor covering, stone and tile industry, TISE - The International Surface Event, in Las Vegas. It was definitely a truly exciting and enriching experience that left me inspired and full of new perspectives. One of the things that impressed me the most was the cultural diversity represented at the event, being my first time in the United States, I felt what they call "culture shock". I was able to interact with professionals from all over the world, share experiences and learn unique approaches to the sector's challenges. It was certainly a valuable experience for our company, which is present all over the world, but especially in the United States. As a Marketeer, it was crucial to understand the unique dynamics of this country, from different approaches to particular forms of communication. Observing the cultural differences was an enriching experience for improving our strategy and presence in the North American markets. In a short sentence I can say that: TISE was more than an event. It was a priceless experience.

🌍✨ One year in Stuttgart and what an experience! From Madrid to a place I can already call home, Stuttgart. Moving to a new country has not only been a personal adventure, but also a challenge of adaptability, resilience and acceptance of new cultures and obstacles. The qualities I have acquired, which have undoubtedly given me new skills in both work and life, are priceless. Every interaction is a learning opportunity, every conversation a cultural exchange and a chance to experience and meet people I would never have met otherwise. What a joy to have made this choice! 🥂🌏 Meine neue Herausforderung: Deutsch lernen 👍 #LifeAbroad #NewBeginning #Stuttgart #InternationalExperience

Few learnings from the trip 1. One of the biggest takeaways from a professional trip is the opportunity to network with professionals in your field. Meeting new people and expanding your professional connections can open doors for future collaborations and learning from their experiences. 2. By traveling to different cities or countries for work, you are exposed to new ideas and perspectives from different cultures and industries. 3. When you visit different locations, you get a chance to observe and understand the market trends specific to that region. This knowledge can help you make more informed decisions or develop strategies that are tailored to the local market. 4. Through professional trips, you get to experience different cultures, traditions, and ways of doing business. 6. It exposes you to situations where you have to communicate and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and languages. This experience can improve your communication skills, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in multicultural teams. 6. Professional trips often involve stepping out of your comfort zone and taking on new challenges. This can lead to personal growth and development as you navigate unfamiliar environments, deal with unexpected situations, and demonstrate your ability to adapt and thrive in different settings.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱: 𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒, 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠? Sometimes I come across #jobposting requiring a minimum of 5 years of #experience, but aren't they too many? In the last 5 years: - I launched "Il Filo di Nicky," a #travelblogging project that took me around the world for a year, creating a healthy community of 35,000 people; - I was named #Tourism Personality of the Year 2017 by TTG, Italy's largest industry fair; - I joined an events agency, becoming Head of #Communication, working on complex and beautiful events; - I took an almost 6-month break for family issues that required all my energy; - A year-long pause due to the global pandemic affecting events industries; - I completed two master's degrees in business #sustainability and #futureliteracy, along with a #Web3 course; - I worked a season as a bartender on the Island of Elba; - I participated and won two #hackathons and one of my project has been featured in the Adi Design Index among the best #servicedesign examples of 2023; - I participated in the foundation and first two years of development of the wonderful LifeGate Way project; - I took three months to realign myself, traveling through Jordan, Oman, the UAE, mainland Malaysia, and Borneo; - I initiated my #NFT project, currently dormant but not dead; - I participated in dozens of events as a speaker, moderator, and audience. Did truly spending 5 years in the same job position or company would have bring me more value or competences? I could be wrong, but I'm not that convinced.

Are you still joining big events with hundreds of attendees to look for your potential customers? Or do you organize small events where you can devote enough time to all the invited quests? My colleagues and I have attended many large events in the past. We had a very good feeling after such events. We talked a lot with potential customers, got a lot of new contacts and expected a lot of business. Unfortunately, only a few of these contacts became customers. And that's why we started to wonder if it was the right format. I talked about it with several people who had similar experiences and then I got a nice idea from Milan Simek from Sewio. They were doing special sessions with customers and prospects. The concept is simple. Do a small event (20-40 people) for only 2-3 hours. And repeat it in several cities so people don't have to travel a lot. This will allow you to have a high-quality chat with all participants. We tested this model last year in Poland and it was very successful. We were able to close many deals within a month. The key is to have an interesting topic that engages people. And then you have to invite your current customers as well as potential ones. Just last week we had a Coffee and learn events in the following cities: Croatia – Zagreb, Split, Rijeka Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru Canada – Montreal, Toronto Benelux – The Hague, Mechelen, Luxembourg More countries and cities are coming. If you would like to meet with us in your city, then let us know. Are you going to arrange a Coffee and learn sessions for your customers and prospects as well? #coffeeandlearn

Going International In my recent Europe trip, I had the chance to meet many people. Many of them have gained international experience in their careers – working and living in different cities that are far away from their home. How do you gain international experience? I recommend that you start young. If the opportunity is available, start from your school days. Student exchange programs and internships are abundant these days. There are many work and travel programs as well. If you have started your career, seek the opportunity to travel abroad for assignments. Raise your hand for international postings. Relocating to another country often gives you the opportunity to accelerate your growth. Sometimes, it means going to a less developed country. Focus on the learning experience, instead of the potential hardship. You can quickly expand your cultural intelligence by living in a different country for several months or several years. For me, I didn’t have the chance to relocate for my work. Instead, I chose to expand my horizons by traveling to new countries. I started with Southeast Asia and China. Later, my travels expanded to Europe, India, and East Asia. There are still many cities that I like to explore and I want to learn as much as I can. When you do have the opportunity to travel or relocate, make an effort to develop friendships with the locals. Learn the local language. Appreciate the food and culture. Read up on the history and folklore. Explore the diverse geography of the country. Visit local museums and art galleries. Join local festive celebrations, and perhaps learn the local songs and dances. Most importantly, approach a new country with an open mind. There are often good reasons why things are done in a certain way or why people have certain beliefs. Take time to explore instead of being critical. I sincerely believe that the world will be a better place if people travel more and learn to appreciate each other’s culture more. Are you ready to go international? #jobhunting Blog: https://lnkd.in/gg-4ESvv Photo: Rathaus, taken at Marienplatz, Munich

How about an #EmployeeSpotlight update today? 🤩 Let's see what Lorenzo Trevisan, our Travel Intelligence Analyst has to say. 🇮🇹🇬🇧 Originally from Italy, Lorenzo is currently based in the UK and has initially joined for an internship, working his way up to the Travel Intelligence team. 📝 What's your biggest productivity tip for remote work? To stay productive during my shift, I try never to spend more than 20-30 minutes on a task unless it necessarily takes longer, but to switch from one to the other. I have noticed that sticking too long on a problem risks slowing down my productivity. 📝 What is something you find challenging about your work? How do you try to solve it? Working fully remote and not having physical contact with my colleagues can be challenging at times, but I consider myself lucky because there is never a lack of communication with them and this makes me feel less physically detached. Receiving a message from them even just to know how I am makes me feel less distant. 📝 What is your hidden talent that people are not aware of? I spend many hours in the woods foraging for mushrooms.🍄 📝 What destination is next on your travel checklist? I'd love to go back to Asia in the future, maybe this time to Taiwan, it is a place I have never been to but I know there is crazy nature and lots of mountains for breathtaking treks to do. We like your plans, Lorenzo!
