Meet Daniel Boo, our Assistant Product Marketing Manager for Home Entertainment & IT! Daniel is all about making a positive impact, and like many of us, he incorporates sustainability practices into his daily life. ♻️ One way Daniel practices sustainability: "We have a designated recycling bin near my home, and we make sure to separate our recyclables! It's become a habit, and it's even motivating my wife and I to be good role models for our kids." ♻️ Daniel's tip: Start simple! Look for the designated recycling bins in your office or neighborhood and separate your recyclables (paper, plastic, etc.). Every little bit counts! Did you know upcycling and recycling are different? 🧐 Recycling refers to turning used materials into new products often by reducing waste and breaking down items like plastic bottles, paper, and glass; then transforming them into something fresh! Upcycling is all about giving new life to old items and making unique, one-of-a-kind treasures. (IE: old jeans turned into trendy tote bags or pallets into rustic furniture)♻️✨ So the what’s key difference?? 🌟Recycling = Reusing materials on an industrial scale. 🌟Upcycling = Turning old items into unique creations on a smaller, creative scale. Whichever you choose, both are ecofriendly choices! 🌎💚 Join the sustainability movement today and don’t forget to tag us and share your favorite recycling or upcycling projects with us! 🙏Let's make a positive impact together! 👬👭🤝 #mainecommunitysolar #thursdaythoughts #Sustainability #reducereuserecycle #create #ecofriendly #jointhemovement #upcycling #recycling #zerowaste

It's a dirty business It was Global Recycling Day on Tuesday (March 18th) and it got me thinking about #recycling in the #beauty industry. Did you know that only 14% of #packaging actually make it to a recycling plant, of which just 9% is recycled (British Beauty Council). The rest ends up in landfills. Consumers are baffled about recycling guidelines. Research by Nivea found that 33% of UK consumers are confused about what can and can’t be recycled and this prevents them from recycling their bathroom products. Recycling is often considered a dirty business, hence the lack of information and standardised rules. Recycling symbols and labels can also differ from different countries making it even more confusing. As beauty professionals we should provide clearer instructions and educate people on how to recycle empty packaging properly to close the (beauty) loop and eliminate waste, with the likes of France with the Triman symbols. With re/sources, we bring you reports and consulting support on recycling, sustainability messaging or the future of sustainability in beauty, so instead of imaging it, you can build it, and market it properly! We believe in fostering a sustainable future through practical and impactful actions. Here are the key principles of environmental sustainability that guide our mission: 1. Reduce: Reducing waste and consumption is the cornerstone of environmental sustainability. It involves making conscious decisions to limit the amount of waste we generate and the resources we consume. This can be achieved by: - Opting for products with minimal packaging: Choosing items with less packaging reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. - Using energy-efficient appliances: These appliances consume less energy, which helps conserve natural resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. - Adopting a minimalist lifestyle: Buying only what we need and avoiding unnecessary purchases can significantly reduce our ecological footprint. 2. Reuse: Reusing is about finding new ways to use items instead of discarding them. This principle encourages us to think creatively about how we can give a second life to products and materials. Examples include: - Repurposing household items: Transforming old jars into storage containers or using worn-out clothes as cleaning rags. - Upcycling: Converting waste materials into new products of better quality or environmental value, such as turning old furniture into unique, stylish pieces. - Participating in exchange programs: Engaging in community swap events or online marketplaces where people can exchange items they no longer need. 3. Recycle: Recycling involves processing used materials into new products, thereby reducing the need for raw materials and minimizing environmental impact. Effective recycling practices include: - Sorting waste properly: Ensuring that recyclable materials like paper, plastic, glass, and metal are separated from non-recyclable waste. - Supporting local recycling programs: Participating in and promoting community recycling initiatives. - Choosing recycled products: Purchasing items made from recycled materials to support the recycling industry and close the loop on waste. By adhering to these principles, we can collectively work towards a more sustainable future. At Recyklable, we are committed to promoting and practicing these principles, ensuring that our actions today contribute to a healthier planet for future generations. Join us in our journey towards sustainability. Together, we can make a difference. #EnvironmentalSustainability #ReduceReuseRecycle #SustainableLiving #EcoFriendly #GreenFuture #Recyklable #WasteManagement #CircularEconomy

While society often favors cheaper, linear models that promote overconsumption, long-term strategies that focus on more than just carbon emissions and recycling can steer us toward a circular economy. The path to sustainability and circularity entails a shift in mindset — emphasizing the importance of design for circularity and the repurposing of waste materials. #circulareconomy #sustainability #consumergoods #retail #manufacturing #ESG #brandstrategy #reverselogistics #zerowaste #consumerproducts #pollutionprevention #liquidateforacause https://lnkd.in/g3eYKEsu

Navigating the world of sustainability can be overwhelming for both brands and consumers. This is made even more challenging around Earth Day when brands use environmental buzzwords to promote their sustainability efforts, and customers have to use their best judgment when choosing where to shop. So, among a sea of Earth Day initiatives, we’re going to keep our message simple. One of our biggest environmental goals has been decreasing the volume of our packaging. Even though the majority of our packaging is fully recyclable, less packaging means less waste. For our newest launch—which is coming in 2 weeks—we are proud to have achieved that. Our newest product simply contains a fully-recyclable folding carton and cardboard insert. Our customers may not even be aware of the difference in packaging, and that’s okay. Sustainability isn’t a talking point, but an actionable step. Going forward, we plan to look at how we can reduce packaging for our other products. But for now, we consider this a sustainability victory. #EarthDay #sustainability #packaging #sustainablepackaging
