At Electrolux Group, protecting the environment is one of our priorities, and we are very aware of how preserving nature plays a key role in fighting climate change. After discussing the various ways to preserve nature, our team in Vietnam chose to plant more trees. In collaboration with GreenViet, Electrolux Vietnam organised a “Tree Planting Day” for their company. Led by Tomasz Sypytkowski, ROBERT VU, and Hong Phuong, 70 employee volunteers gathered at Vietnam National University to plant 400 trees in their Science Park. Tree Planting Day was also a contribution to GreenViet's “One Million Urban Trees” Program, which aims to make Ho Chi Minh City a greener and more sustainable place to live in—a goal that aligns with our mission to deliver a positive impact on the environment. Although Tree Planting Day is over, our mission still continues, not just in Vietnam, but as far as Electrolux Group can reach. On-Site Energy Generation: By utilizing a Combined Heat Power (CHP) steam turbine fueled by horticultural waste, Gardens by the Bay generates carbon-neutral electricity and harnesses waste heat for further energy efficiency. Water Conservation: The Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes act as natural filtration systems, cleansing water runoff and supporting local biodiversity. Impact on Visitors: Comfortable Environment: The energy-efficient cooling and solar heat management systems ensure that the conservatories maintain a pleasant temperature, making visits enjoyable even during Singapore’s hot and humid days. Educational Opportunities: Visitors can learn about sustainable practices and technologies firsthand. The gardens serve as a living classroom, inspiring people to think about their own environmental impact and how they can contribute to sustainability. Enhanced Aesthetics: The integration of natural filtration systems like the Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes not only supports biodiversity but also adds to the beauty of the gardens, providing serene and picturesque landscapes for visitors to enjoy.
