It’s B Corp Month (B Lab)—and we’ve got some exciting news! Last month, we got together with certified B Corps in Türkiye as well as aspiring B Corps in a 3-day B Corp bootcamp organized by imece, in partnership with Zorlu Holding, S360, and B Lab Europe. We were proud to be a part of this event as community partners to share our journey of becoming certified. Our Co-CEO Bengi Turgan Çiftçi, Community Designer Atalay Akpınar, and Communications Lead Melissa Lara Clissold delivered a swift workshop on the "Community" section of the B Impact assessment which is made up of 5 sections in total: Governance, Workers, Environment, Customers and Community. During the bootcamp weekend, we also officially kicked off the “B Local Türkiye” community, of which Melissa Lara Clissold will be a Co-Chair on the Steering Committee alongside Idil Lopez and Aleyna Koca for a year. The purpose of this community will be to spread the B Corp movement across Türkiye and the region and develop the impact ecosystem further. Currently, there are currently 8 B Corps in Türkiye: ATÖLYE, Fazla , Mikado Sustainable Development Consulting, moritoys, Reflect Studio, Semtrio, S360, and Orimpex Textiles. We’re hoping more companies using business as a force for good, such as Aposto, beije, Fomilk, Harcy, Kızlar Sahada, Nivogo, Onaranlar Kulübü and Toyi - who all attended the bootcamp - will also become certified! Since becoming a B Corp, we have invested in our Climate work, JEDI/DEI work, and strived to focus on impact-driven projects. This year, during our re-certification, we hope that our work will have paid off, and are excited to see the fruits of our labour come to light. The Future 100 Club is now open for entries for the class of 2023! We launched this initiative last year to engage with the next generation of media leaders and to bring together the most diverse group of professionals from across the media ecosystem. We had high hopes that it would be good but I don't think any of us at The Media Leader or Adwanted Events (Formerly Mediatel Events) quite expected it to be as brilliant as it has been! Unlike other groupings of rising stars or future leaders lists, there is no barrier or discrimination based on age, time spent in the industry, or current job title, and we wanted to make sure it wasn't simply a badging exercise and that we engaged with the F100 as much as we could over a 12-month period. The commitment and dedication from the Class of 2022 to lean into what we were trying to achieve has been out of this world, and I want to thank each and every one of them for helping us build a platform for the next cohort, which we will announce the w/c October 2. The Global Management Meeting is an opportunity for members of the #PWOGroup to come together and discuss strategies and plans for upcoming challenges, strengthen collaboration and increase teamwork between subsidiaries. It is an important event that allows the group to stay cohesive, strengthen collaboration and increase teamwork between subsidiaries to work together to achieve the goals. For us in #PWOMéxico, it has been an honor and privilege to host the #GMM2023. We thank the members of PWO Group, PWO China, PWO Canada Inc., and PWO Czech Republic a.s. for their participation and assistance in this event. Being the central theme of this year's meeting the #sustainability , during our event, the topics have been addressed taking into account this perspective, going from the blocks of #corporatevalues and #leadershipprinciples, #ESG plan, #innovation, to the strategy of industry 4.0. This will allow our company to design and develop an even more sustainable approach to its operations in order to reduce negative environmental and to increase positive social impacts. Furthermore, this will also help to strengthen our competitive business model, as well as helping to increase the company's long-term profitability and value. To our agenda of activities, it has been added the physical visit to our San Cristobal and Santa Elena plants located at #Chachapaindustrialpark in Puebla state, where was shown our guests our most recent and innovative operational processes. On the other hand, we could not miss this opportunity to organize tours and visits in Puebla and Mexico City to popular places of interest, as well as activities that promote #teambuilding, professional ties and knowledge exchange with all our visitors. On Monday morning when the shock and pain from Ireland's loss against New Zealand at the Rugby World cup started to dissipate, I got thinking about why this one hurt so much - there was the belief, the expectation, the wonderful sense of community that the whole experience delivered. Overall though, I think it was the ride into the unknown every weekend, the combination of the excitement of believing you have a chance of winning the whole thing mixed with the fear of the loss - the 'unpredictable' nature of it all that was so intoxicating. The loss of that 'shared moment,' of looking forward to this thrilling spectacle every week, was huge. Back in the olden days of advertising we spoke about the power of 'the water cooler moment...' for brands and experiences. This was the ultimate water cooler moment. Reading our wonderful Accenture Song #lifetrends two things jumped out at me in relation to the above ramblings on life and rugby: 1. "To avoid efficiency-first, recycled content, skilled creatives must be involved in the use of generative AI." 2. "Technology feels like it’s happening to people rather than for them—is a shift beginning, where they regain agency over its influence on daily life?" There is very little I have watched across the multiple platforms I subscribe to recently where I did not think it felt, 'templated, formulaic, predictable.' The pace and velocity of content is making it all a bit vanilla, I'm getting to the point of 'switching off' as I'm not getting the value of experiencing something that myself and my friends relate to together. There seems to be less and less that creates these shared 'water cooler' moments, that brings us together - it seems that in the race towards tech powered standardisation and unification, ironically, we might be losing site of the the things that actually unify us. The tech is important, but human ingenuity, unpredictability and shared experiences matters more. Just a pity Ireland didn't stuff the All Blacks and give us more of that to look forward to this weekend 😥 https://lnkd.in/ecSV8MKi
