J.P. Crawford is raking, as #Mariners fans are no doubt aware. At Driveline Baseball Enterprises, Inc we calculated that if he gained 2 MPH of bat speed, he would increase his Barrel% from 2.1% to 3.2% and his xwOBAcon (damage on contact) would improve to 0.347. These would be significant improvements. So he trained with an eye on improving Bat Speed and Smash Factor, as his Swing Decisions were already quite good. Our Big Three analysis showed he should attack the top two factors first. Crawford's 2023 data is a bit better than our projections! Want to learn more? Yes, that's Brooks Robinson, Hall of Famer since 1983, third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles acting as a goodwill ambassador for Crown Petroleum, where I worked doing this radio promotion in 1990. Not a government decision, but the consequence for the government is that they now have to consider establishing a fuel storage facility large enough buffer against supply disruptions caused by whatever international events come along, and enter into long term supply contracts to smooth out price spikes, probably in some joint arrangement with a consortium of international fuel companies who will agree to establish transparent pricing regimes for the retailing of fuels in NZ, in return for the rights to retail fuel in NZ
