Network, team spirit, refreshing breaks - all essential in the project world. Yesterday, the Trimline team temporarily swapped dry dock for shark dining. Post-shift, we settled into a local restaurant, loading up not just on great food, but also an unusual exposition of shark feeding! Definitely not your average dining entertainment. So why step outside the work environment together? Building social connections at work isn't a management trick, it's a powerful tool that can bring collaboration and idea sharing. When teams take time to interact outside work, it allows for an openness that continues in the professional setting, simplifying conflict resolution and maintaining respect. Pressing pause on projects isn't always an option in our industry, making it vital to nurture good social bonds to reduce workplace stress. Pictured below: A pleasant evening winding down in the Bahamas. Sharing a meal and a chilled beer with our project’s Foreman Arek Rybicki as we take in the stunning sunset. #WorkLifeBalance #TeamBuilding #MarineIndustry #workplaceculture #projectmanagement

As someone who works in HOSPITALITY, I can’t imagine a single day without the support from each member of our TEAM! Every single person on a team plays a big role regardless of their position. Be part of the FOH team but always make the efforts to greet, talk to and learn names of the BOH guys especially the super humans of the stewarding department! Without them, we can never function! Try making their jobs easier, arrange and put the dirty dishes closer to them. Offer to make them tea/coffee whenever you can. They need very small, simple acts from us and that’s support enough. Our roles may be different but they operate in cyclical rhythms. What goes around comes back around. Put out the same energy you may need some day! Remember it’s a TEAM. “ Whatever you lack,I got you. We balance each other out. #teamculture #teameffort #togetherwethrive #togetherwewin #hospitalityexcellence #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #hospitalityindustry

You'll never hear me say... "No job is too small or too big for me to participate in." Every team member is essential. Let me tell you about my experiences as a dishwasher and what I learned... Many moons ago, I used to think that cleaning cutlery was a trivial and useless job that provided no value to anyone, especially myself. But now that I can reflect on that experience, I realize now that it was one of the most important roles in the kitchen. Why? I played an important role in prep and closing out the dinner and I set the morning team up for an amazing service. All roles are important -- there's no such thing as a small job. #cashflowcanucks #PeterLount #teamwork

It’s 2017 & I’m working at Hertiage Golf Links with my good friend Keyonna. In this picture we are having a good ol’ time on the cart. Here’s a few things I learned : -Always start your day off on the right foot and with a positive attitude. 😂 I would get on Keyonna’s nerves every morning because I would burst through that door yelling & singing good morning. -On your down time learn something new! Keyonna is a chef and I ran the bar but she taught me some tricks in the kitchen. How to prep, how to cut, run the washer & make a few things (her wraps still remain my favorite). - Make work fun! We had Tee times as early as 6am and it wasn’t the busiest but we managed to entertain ourselves by getting to know each other. One time we did a squat challenge and at any given time (even infront of customers) if one of us yelled squat , you had to stop what you were doing & do 10 squats 😂 I really enjoyed my time there! Don’t take any job for granted. There’s so many hidden gems. I look back at that now and realize what I took away from that experience. Keyonna and I still keep in touch after all these years. ❤️ #lessonslearned #throwbackmemories #jobexperience #customerexperience #learninganddevelopment #learningjourney #workhappy #friendsforever

Lead By Example ⚡️ Employee Advocacy | Employer Branding 🔹 Share on LinkedIn™ regardless of your title | Attract ✦ Retain ✦ Grow 👾 It's a blurry world 🎙The LinkedIn ™ Lounge Podcast Host
I got my first job at 13 years old. Waitressing at a hole-in-the-wall 50's drive-in-diner. 🍔 (No, I didn't wear roller skates there were too many pot holes! 🛼) They had THE best burgers in town at reasonable price with great service. It was a great first job and created lasting friendships even 20 years later. That's what happens when you not only have fun on the job but also know what it means to step up and in during times of crisis and support to your team. Today we laugh about how crazy our boss was. We all have a funny story or two to share. But in retrospect it gave everyone from waiter, fryer, cook, burger smasher, or dishwasher to step into leadership. We knew how to keep the restaurant running when all hell broke loose. That was only possible through team work, communication, and understanding. And that understanding was built on trust through "trials". Waitressing taught me: Be quick to listen. Sympathize + empathize. Seek the need + be ready to help. To take ownership of your actions. Work hard. [I was recognized multiple times for highest tip earner💸) Sadly, it was bought out by a famous restaurant developer who turned the hole-in-the wall restaurant in sparkly shiny new diner that quickly flopped. Only to show that success isn't always about appearance or having the latest up-to-date bells and whistles but rather the heart, pulse, and why behind what you do. It was the people and their stories that made the difference.
