OutrAGE: Addressing Ageism in Advertising at the @IPG Common Ground @Cannes Lions was a thought provoking discussion. Advertising & Marketing is stereotyping people over 50 who have time and means to buy, travel, vote, and contribute to the world in so many ways. Aba Blankson, from the NAACP, one of the panelists, had some great call outs: “We are reducing people over 50 to a flat version of themselves. We tend to do the the same with black people. Let’s acknowledge that people are more than their age or their race. People are complex and multifaceted.”

Weber Shandwick is focusing on a key area in the healthcare system and for society at large - women. Women are not only patients and caregivers, but gatekeepers and influencers who can help improve outcomes and change the way we deal with multiple challenges. Stay tuned.
