When it comes to assessing the likelihood of slipping in the shower, the pendulum test is an extremely useful tool. The pendulum test has been used to test the slip resistance of surfaces since the 1940s. A very real case of, if it isn't broken - don't fix it. 💯 The pendulum is a device consisting of a swinging arm. When the arm is lifted and released, it swings down and hits the surface being measured. Then, it swings through, and the distance it covers is measured on the apparatus's scale. This distance is what gives you the pendulum test value (PTV).
