Recently hitting 3k+ followers- I figured I’d reintroduce myself! I'm Dakota. Here's my backstory.. I’m a 5 heart surgery survivor, turned sustainability entreprenuer, building Community Solar Authority, and streamlining the deployment of renewable assets across the US. We serve as full-service consultants, and bridge the gap between large consumers of electricity and the solar developers who can maximize their ROI & enhance resiliency. Before entrepreneurship, I built my skill stack from well over 10,000+ hours of direct sales in the energy space. Those experiences taught me: 1. Opportunity vehicle = leverage. 2. Remote work at national level > 1-to-1 sales I didn’t know much about entrepreneurship before I made the dive; I just followed the breadcrumbs. I bundled my life resume & work experience into a thesis that built the foundation of our work: “the more sustainable you become; the more likely you remain profitable & in business.” We focused on serving a single niche with a singular product: community solar. We de-commodetized the opportunity over the years and became a category of one, while adding additional commercial solar services. Eventually, I realized.... Our flagship service was extremely valuable as a bolt-on partnership for ESCO’s, efficiency groups, engineers, and lighting companies. So I started partnering with organizations that had aligned interests and values- and we blew up. Now, we’ve got a strategic footprint nationwide where we can truly streamline & “plug and play” highly leveraged commercial solar opportunities. Are you working on the energy transition? Do you face challenges with your digital innovations or efforts to create energy hubs? Join us next week for an online meeting with experts, investors and policymakers to identify the barriers for digitalisation and deep tech, and to explore their solutions. We discovered that the EU’s digitalisation agenda highlights the need for energy networks to become more decentralised, digitalised, and flexible. Energy communities and local ownership are among the top priorities. Dutch innovators are already moving towards these goals. However, they face many difficulties as Dutch vision and policies are not aligned with the EU’s ambitions. This alignment would accelerate the necessary digital innovation and system change. So it is crucial that we organise like-minded experts from government, universities, finance, citizens groups and entrepreneurs to work together on the implementation of the EU’s agenda. That's where our project, WEnnovate, comes in. We're creating a dynamic collaboration among investors, financiers, regulators, universities, innovators, and civil organizations to develop solutions that drive the digital implementation. This will culminate in a practical action plan for deep tech and digital innovations in the Dutch energy sector. For this, we need your input. What are your biggest hurdles? What would you do to overcome them? And with whom? Our research highlights the need for more experimental regions, better data access, a flexible and modular regulatory system, and a unified energy digitalization agenda aligned with EU goals, agreed upon and followed by all parties. What are "your" innovations? All of us who have to do with energy are encountering innovations. A list of them appears in developed countries because it is there that there is a determined effort to reach and maintain new levels, both in energy sources and in the ways of their conversion. And we here in Brazil, can and should take advantage of these new developments for the benefit of our companies and institutions. Share here with us the innovations you have already introduced in the energy area for the organisation you work for. Post as a comment so this "community" can discover and explore experiences that certainly have a lot of value! It can be something super simple or very complex. That practically didn't even involve investments or, on the contrary, required significant volumes of capital. That it was implemented quickly or that took many months.
