🌍 The Longevity of Plastic: A Stark Reminder from Landfills 🌍 Here we can perfectly see the effect of landfilling on plastic - almost none. A coworker collected these items from a landfill around #Aachen. This #Pril bottle, for instance, dates most likely back to 1951 - 73 years ago. The people who enjoyed this Henkel detergent are propably no longer with us, but the bottle remains fully intact, showing only mechanical damage from back then. Truly impressive and eye-opening! The same applies to this pack of medication from Merck Group, which once contained Nedolon. We were not able to date it back, but maybe someone from Merck Group could help us out here? Being sustainable ain't easy. Its reported that a British Supermarket Chain is changing their home brand pocket tissues packaging from plastic film to paper. It will replace 55 Million plastic pieces with 55 Million paper pieces. Are we sure this is more sustainable? By which measure? “Can we ever replace single-use plastic entirely?” The answer is not that simple, here’s what our CEO thinks - In a world striving for sustainability, the question of replacing single-use plastic looms large. But can we replace single-use plastic today? As per our CEO - While the world and Srinivas Papers are trying their best to get rid of single-use plastic, we are not quite there yet. We at Srinivas Papers are contributing to the fight for sustainable packaging with our products like- Paper cups, plates, trays, and bags. Yet, the truth is, that paper technology and coatings need significant upgrades to match plastic's durability. As innovations in sustainable packaging continue, we are confident that one day we might be able to replace single-use plastic.
