Trying something new. I'm 🫳🏾, so a lot of, if not all, of my work is 🫳🏾 but I tried to narrow it down to make this list of Pieces for Pride. Check the comments for links and let me know what you think. 💜 [Image Descriptions: K compiled a list of Pieces for Pride. 7 slides covered in rainbow graphics and screenshots of K's pieces they felt would be most informative for Pride. These pieces include videos: Should I be Sharing Pronouns?, Why Do You Use the Word Queer? and When to Join the Conversation, articles: Isn't It Just Transgender?, The Gender Binary Hurts Us All, and Job Hoppers Do Not Exist and podcasts: Absolutely Not! and Questions Answered. The last slide has QR codes to support K's work and a picture of K in the left corner.] K is a Psychological Safety Consultant. K Mataōtama Strohl (They/Them) works with organizations to create psychologically safe environments for people who share their identities or their lived experiences (Black, Sāmoan-AAPI, AANHPI, Queer, Transgender-LGBTQ+ and Disabled Veteran).

A couple weeks ago, a group of strangers told me not to be angry at them for causing my child and I harm because "we're all part of the city of Dallas community." The absurdity of the statement helped me tell them to fuck off. My favorite pastime is sending White women my link for them to pay me to answer their "genuine" questions and getting absolutely no response. 🙃 [Image Descriptions: A Kofi post by K that says "My favorite pastime is sending White women my link for them to pay me to answer their "genuine" questions and getting absolutely no response. 🙃” Excerpts from the post are on multiple slides with differently brightly colored gradient backgrounds. The same two books are always brought up in these spaces. Stop centering the same voices. Stop reusing the same surface level solutions. Stop pretending their written words are truth for us all. If you need help with the widening of lenses or understanding my work, please let me know. 💜 Do you have any recommendations? [Video Description: K points out outdated materials in a black bonnet and off the shoulder red top against a white wall with a white window with white blinds. K says " When having conversations on mental health and psychology or with professionals that do work similar to my own, I am always recommended outdated materials. I have written several pieces as to why these materials are outdated, my most popular piece being titled Brene White please go check it out. Here's some of my recommendations: Be Well by Dr. Jessica Clemons (She/Her), Set Boundaries, Find Peace by Nedra Glover Tawwab (She/Her) and You Got Me Fucked up by Tamarisk M Locke (She/Her). She-the last author was actually an amazing guest on my podcast, Absolutely Not! I hope these recommendations find you and help you and I hope you're able to see the pattern in the authors that I'm recommending and those that are outdated.] ----------------------- K is a Psychological Safety Consultant and Boundaries Strategist. I've been moving my website slowly to Squarespace and I think I'm finally moved. In the past I used Wix but in my efforts to be more intentional in my funds not supporting genocide, I began to move. It's taken me awhile but I'm really excited about it. It's also given me the chance to be more creative in the ways I showcase my work. Please check out my new space and use the links in the comments for help on how to be more intentional as I have. 💜 [Image Description: K's home page of their new website. The beautiful thing about boundaries is they have to be intentional and tied to your values. If they aren't then they're not boundaries, they're you trying to control someone.
