Years ago I created a Team that worked out the idea for the puller on the right. We were an mixed group with each a different angle on what to show case at the games in Paris and H2. Non of the individual ideas found enough follower but I saw the potential in the combination of the others coworkers and dropped mine completely. For 6 months we worked in our private time to create this puller idea and were selected to make a plan for introduction to real life. We absorbed an other team with a competitive design but wasn’t so feasable. The Team doubled but my original team halved quickly due to time constraints and new extra workload. I had passion for the idea so did all to kick off a well oiled team with the newcomers and improved our initial idea with their best practices. I became the support member also as there was a beter candidate to be the face of the team. My multi-skilled background in manufacturing, design, quality and purchasing helped to decide the make or outsource decissions and sourcing patner selection. I still remember my last days at Toyota on a very hot parking lot, putting the executives in these pullers to convince them and filling in surveys with collegues issues as new users to find our design blindspots 🥵. I left the team with a good start to manufacture in quality and a good push from the top in TME to support the project. Now the games are comming and happy to see the result. Fun to see each members skill from styling the covers, technical design, to the hard negotiations on budgets that lead to the wheelchair puller. Not sure how and who did what over the last years but GOOD JOB 😉!!! You guys make my day, much more then any new car I worked on!!! Especially the new mobility idea by ordering on an app is what I like most about the execution of the initial idea, just wonderfull. PS: team mates, I hope you sent a gift to the paraplegic persons we interviewed. We never could have gotten this far without their input and open discussion about their strugles. If not do it :-), get them in your product. Sorry long post 🤩

I have just attended Engineers Australia's webinar 'Engineering the Olympics and Paralympics: Smart traffic solution'. I would like to give a big thank you to Megan Purdy for moderating, and a big thank you to those who spoke: Andrew Paynter - CTO at Transmax; who spoke about their software product; STREAMS Smart Motorways solution which is helping to move millions of commuters per day whilst prioritising safety (with a 30% accident reduction) and convenience (with a 42% reduction in transit time) on established sites in a cost-effective manner. Simon Washington - Founder and CEO at Advanced Mobility Analytics Group (AMAG); who spoke about the significant challenges that occur in the games such as; increased major constructions, an increase in drivers and traveller's a-familiar in local behaviours; laws and more, and atypical demand on the transport network. He also spoke about their AI solution which measures conflicts within traffic networks to predict the likelihood of crashes. Jason Deller - Customer Success Manager and Transport engineer at AMAG; who spoke about how AMAG's smart traffic AI can be used for the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games I found it very interesting how the companies solutions could interact with one another - Transmax developing a software solution and AMAG pioneering the use of AI to proactively predict when and where interference is needed to improve road safety and efficiency. Both prioritising proactive solutions, one which predicts needs and the other which react to existing and predicted needs. I am very confident that the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games - and the future of global transport management - will run smoothly with these brilliant and innovative companies directing the way. Thanks again, to those involved.

Not all mistakes are culpable and deserving of punishment. Some may be serendipitous and reveal deeper truths. Asics is a race sponsor of the 2024 Tokyo Marathon. A drawn map of the marathon route, printed on thousands of Tokyo Marathon T-shirts provided by Asics, showed the marquee event ending at a “funish” line in front of the Imperial Palace. Consequently, Asics apologised for the mistake. Perhaps Asics was on to something bigger. Running a marathon is often compared to overcoming the challenges and travails of life and our careers in a figurative sense. We need lots of determination, perseverance, focus, and hard work to achieve our goals. This is on top of all the training and practices, paired with a healthy diet and adequate rest, behind the scenes. Not enough is said about the importance of having fun. The benefits of fun, levity, and humour at work include improved morale, better mood, enhanced teamwork, higher productivity, strengthened resilience, higher energy levels, and lower attrition rates. With the plethora of change and disruption, and their accelerating rate, the finish line is also often either a mirage or a shifting one. When we have crossed that proverbial finish line for one of life and work's milestones, we pause to celebrate and have fun. But, life goes on and a new marathon commences. Hence, a finish line should properly be re-christened as a "funish" line. We trust in the process and have fun along the way. And we are not really finished yet even after crossing the line. It's time to make fun great again. #marathon #asics #fun

“500 Toyota Mirai HYDROGEN CARS to be used for 2024 Olympics and Paralympics” October 2, 2023 - By JOHN MAX “The automaker has stated that its H2 vehicles will be used for the zero-emission fleet in Paris. Toyota is an Olympic and Paralympic Games Worldwide Partner and has announced that it will be supplying 500 of its Mirai #hydrogencars to be used as the official fleet for the games in Paris next year.” “The goal is to offer mobility solutions to support decarbonization of the major sporting event.” “”In 2018, Akio Toyoda announced a major turning point for the Toyota Group: to transform the company from a car manufacturer to a mobility company,” said Toyota France Chair and CEO Frank Marotte. “With this new direction, the aim is to go beyond the boundaries of our industry by building a better society, based on #carbonneutrality.”” “Toyota’s announcement explained that achieving carbon neutrality requires an approach taking several paths. This means that while hydrogen cars will play an important role, so will #batteryelectricvehicles, #pluginhybrids and #fullhybrids as well. In this way, consumers across all regions will be able to select an option that will best suit their transportation needs.” “The Toyota Mirai hydrogen cars will provide Olympians and Paralympians with #zeroemissiontransportation.” “The fleet of Mirai sedans will be refueled using #H2 produced using #electrolysis powered by #renewableenergy.” “This fuel will be supplied by Air Liquide, an Official Hydrogen Supporter of the #OlympicGames and #ParalympicGames #Paris2024.” “At Paris 2024, Toyota is preparing to show its innovative capabilities in the development of #hydrogenpoweredmobilitysolutions. Transportation is so much more then just cars. Depending on how and where you move about - and distances, the options are plentiful
President at Toyota Norway | Head of BEV Readiness at Toyota Northern Europe 🔋I Automotive Expert📚 & Car Enthusiast🎯 I Automotive News Rising Star 2021 ⭐️I Automotive is my passion🚗I Leading the EV revolution
Toyota equals cars. This is the first, natural association for almost everyone. However, we go further and want to offer much more. As a global partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in the field of mobility, we will present extremely interesting, advanced solutions for transporting people at the upcoming Olympics in Paris. The first of these is the Accessible People Mover (APM), an electric vehicle that can transport both people and goods, with a special version developed as a humanitarian aid vehicle. It was designed in Belgium by Toyota Motor Europe and is manufactured in Portugal by Toyota Caetano. There will be 250 of these vehicles during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each of them has a range of 100 kilometers and can travel at a maximum speed of 20 km/h. The second solution is the E-puller for wheelchairs, developed jointly with the Austrian mobility start-up Klaxon. During the Paralympics, 50 units will be available as part of shared mobility via the KINTO Mobility app for use within the Olympic village, and at least 150 devices will be used by National Paralympic Committees, athletes, and staff. Its speed ranges from 3 to 8 km/h, with a range of 25 kilometers. I wholeheartedly support the development of mobility for everyone and sincerely hope that the solutions from Paris will find wider application in our surrounding reality.

Just over 100 days before the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, this network of stations will enable the filling of 500 hydrogen cars, contributing to accelerate the use of hydrogen for mobility. Official Supporter in hydrogen of Paris 2024, Air Liquide has designed and installed this station at Place de l’Alma (Paris). The Group will supply hydrogen of renewable origin to Paris 2024’s official fleet, which notably includes 500 hydrogen Mirai Toyota cars. For vehicles with intensive-use, hydrogen presents significant benefits, enabling fast refilling time as well as a long autonomy. A hydrogen fill-up is possible in about 5 minutes, for a range of up to 650 kilometers. Armelle Levieux, member of Air Liquide’s Executive Committee overseeing Hydrogen activities, underlines: “Paris 2024 represents a fantastic opportunity to accelerate the development and the adoption of hydrogen, a key solution to reduce CO2 emissions, in particular for intensive transport. Located at the heart of the French capital, the Place de l’Alma station embodies the showcase of an exceptional network, which will leave its mark as a lasting legacy. Present across the entire hydrogen value chain, Air Liquide contributes to the development of hydrogen, an essential molecule in the energy transition.” Hydrogen is a key solution for decarbonizing various sectors such as industry and mobility. In the field of transport, which accounts for a quarter of CO2 emissions worldwide, Air Liquide has multiplied by ten the volumes of hydrogen supplied to mobility worldwide in two years. The Group provides hydrogen to approximately 15,000 cars, 500 buses and 1,000 trucks in the world. Source: Air Liquide https://lnkd.in/eN375W7h
