Over the last couple of years, our Kilograph teams in LA and Spain have been engaged in multiple projects in the region, including strategic brand marketing, architectural visualization, film and animation as well as web and interactive. Based on the immense market potential, we're excited to announce our Dubai office led by Camille Mallat, whose background in film and visual content will be a tremendous asset to the Kilograph portfolio. We've joined forces with KU School of Architecture & Design (ArcD) to design the school’s new studio space - a mass timber structure nicknamed the Makers' Kube - in collaboration with BNIM and StructureCraft! 🪵🏫 Designed in direct response to the needs and wishes of the school’s 1,300+ students, faculty and board, the 50,000 sq ft, 6-story Makers’ KUbe features a distinct timber diagrid frame optimized to reduce material and carbon-intensive concrete. The Makers’ KUbe will connect to the existing Marvin and Chalmers Halls via winter garden bridges, consolidating all of the school’s programs into these three buildings. “Our design for the consolidated design studios at KU seeks to deploy all aspects of the profession in three distinct interventions: preservation, adaptation and new construction. The Makers' KUbe is conceived as a showcase in timber tectonics, traditional joinery, robotic manufacturing and sustainable materials. The timber bones of the building are exposed by stripping away all applied finishes - elevating structure to expression. A single staircase doubling as convenience stairs above and fire stairs within ties all student spaces together from park to attic. We've launched a new competition with the talented students from MADI (Master in Digital Architecture). They'll be creating images exploring the concept of Tension in architectural representation using a provided 3D model over the next few weeks. Can't wait to see the results! Kilograph has a strong connection with MADI and IUAV School of Architecture in Venice, with former students now part of our team. LA's proposed gondola from Union Station to Dodger Stadium is facing opposition, but the bigger issue is being overlooked. LA is missing out on a huge opportunity to boost local businesses on game day. Cities like San Diego and San Francisco see a surge of fans filling bars and restaurants before and after games. With 81 regular season games, LA could have 81 days of tens of thousands of fans walking around, supporting local businesses and generating revenue. Unfortunately, with an average attendance of over 47k people per game, LA experiences gridlock and community misery without the benefit to the local businesses. While the gondola can ease traffic, what more can we do to take advantage of the 4 million people coming to Elysian Park every baseball season? One option I see is to invest in the pedestrian route from the Chinatown metro station to the stadium. #LA #Dodgers #LocalBusinesses #GameDayRevenue

Welcome to the Dollhouse. When we have a project that entails us visualizing a building, we often find the best way to communicate the options for use of space and flow is to create what is known as a ‘dollhouse’ (also known as sectional perspectives). It gives a sectional view of the building and shows how the different spaces can be used.
