Our Store Managers are at the heart of our stores and so many of our communities across the country.  As leaders with tremendous responsibility, we want to provide them with the skills necessary to lead hundreds of associates, take care of our customers, and build relationships with their communities. Our Manager Academy equips our managers with everything they need to successfully manage our stores.  This week, we celebrated our 3,000th participant in the course. Well done!🎓🎉 Massive thanks to the team at the Manager Academy for making this achievement possible. Our customers, associates, and communities are better served thanks to the work you do every day.  Let’s go. 🙌

This Father’s Day, we recognize and celebrate all our associates who are working hard to serve our customers while balancing the responsibilities of being a father. Shawn Crews began his Walmart career 27 years ago stocking groceries at Store 698 in Cleveland, Tennessee. For the past 14 years, he has been Store Manager of the very store where he started his journey. We were all inspired to hear his story and how proud he is of his sons Caleb and Brandon, who also spent time as associates working for Walmart. Thank you to all of our associates working this Sunday and wishing all the Dads out there a Happy Father’s Day. Today, we also remember those whose Dads are no longer with us. 

One of the best parts of my job is meeting associates in our stores and our supply chain. Last month, I was at Store 294 in Central City, Kentucky, and I got to meet Austin Calloway.    Austin started pushing carts in 2019 and continued to work all across the store. He eventually helped launch his store’s Online, Pickup, & Delivery business as a Digital Team Lead.     Under his leadership, his team became very successful, very quickly. He went to other stores to help train new leaders and help them improve their OPD performance.     I loved spending time meeting Austin and his team. His energy is infectious. We were all touched to be a part of Austin’s promotion to Coach at this year’s Walmart U.S. Meeting.    Austin, we are all so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what your future holds with Walmart. Let’s go. 

Nine years ago, Shuziyah Brown started her Walmart journey as an hourly associate. She was motivated by our purpose and discovered that Walmart was helping her become a better person both inside and outside of work.     In the years that followed, Shuziyah took advantage of the opportunities Walmart offered and was promoted to a Store Lead. That's when I met Shuziyah. I visited Store 5293 in Valley Stream, New York, and Shuziyah had that store running like clockwork.    I was so impressed by her focus on our customers’ needs, but I was more impressed when I saw her passion for how she was leading our associates.     Back in January, I saw Shuziyah again, and she told me she was now a Store Manager. She leads Store 2916 at East Meadow, Long Island. We were all so proud to recognize her at this year’s Walmart U.S. meeting.    Well done, Shuziyah! Let’s go. 

It’s Associates Week, and we love seeing all the enthusiasm and excitement from our associates. I ran into some of our Store Managers from Southern California who are definitely “In it to Win it.”😂 Let’s go. 🙌 #TeamWalmart #AssociatesWeek #BeInItToWinIt

It’s Associates Week, and David Guggina and Cedric Clark hosted a fantastic listening session during our U.S. Leadership Meeting with our End-to-End operators from across the country. Sam Walton said, “Great ideas come from everywhere if you just listen and look for them.” We truly appreciate the feedback and ideas these leaders shared to help improve how we serve our customers, lead our associates, and operate our business. Let’s go. 🙌 #TeamWalmart #AssociatesWeek 

We’re all so excited for this year’s Shareholders Associates Week, where we host associates from across the U.S. and around the world to celebrate our purpose, history, opportunities, and all the things that make Walmart unique. This is a special week for me as I’m reminded of my first Shareholders Associates Week back in 2003 when I visited Arkansas along with 150 other Asda colleagues. Never did I imagine back then that I’d be living and working in the US! We had an amazing time visiting with our associates at Store 1578 in Roswell, Georgia. We were all honored to meet three long-term Team Leads in Apparel who are experts at what they do. Shanetta and Virginia have each been with Walmart for 34 years, and Patricia has been with us for 24 years. The detailed feedback they gave on how we display and manage our apparel will undoubtedly improve our operations in the future. We were also very excited to hear each of their unique stories. Shanetta told us the story of how she met Sam Walton on her first day as a cashier for a store opening in Dunwoody, Georgia. Patricia shared her inspirational journey to the U.S. from Nicaragua to become a translator. She worked part-time at Walmart to learn the Southern accent, and she fell in love with the culture and her teammates that she lovingly calls “her sisters.” She chose to make Walmart her career, and we are blessed to have her with us. Thank you to Store Manager Bianca Calderon and her entire team at Store 1578 for what they do every day to serve our customers. Let’s go.🙌
