✔ Kick-off to this year's congress season for OTWorld Congress President Ingo Pfefferkorn From September 22 to 24, the 67th annual congress of the Fortbildungsvereinigung für Orthopädie-Technik e. V. (FOT) took place in Nuremberg. This year's congress theme, "Turning the tide in technical orthopaedics?" was reflected in many of the lectures and discussions. Ingo Pfefferkorn (President FOT and President of the OTWorld congress 2024) opened the event with his statement on the status quo. "A turning point in terms of advancing digitalisation in the craft and healthcare sectors has become steadily more noticeable for us. Artificial intelligence, telemedicine, e-prescription and telematics are becoming more and more part of our work," he said. These words made it clear how important the role of digitalisation is in technical orthopaedics and how it faces challenges and opportunities in equal measure. The congress also provided an opportunity for exchange and discussion. Ingo Pfefferkorn, alongside Prof. Dr. Thomas Wirth, will also set the technical focus of the four-day congress programme at OTWorld 2024. You will learn how digitalisation in the craft sector can help to enable improved and more efficient care. #OTWorld #otworld24 #digitalisation #technicalorthopaedics

So many health care educators have asked for the EdEHR to help them with their simulation courses. They love how the students quickly grasp how to use the EdEHR to both obtain and record patient data. What's been missing is the ability to introduce new patient information during class to practice real-life scenarios. The most common situation is the students determine they need a lab result for their patient. They ask the 'doctor' in the simulation to issue a lab requisition, and then some "time" later the lab results arrive. The ability to sequence these time events will soon be available in the EdEHR. Plus many more new features that improve both the student's and instructor's experience.
We're looking forward to bringing the edehr.org service offering to SimExpo 2023. It'll all be happening in Ottawa this December 11 and 12. Here is the copy of our ad for this event. And YES we will be announcing many new features including the ability to stage the release of medical charting information into the live classroom as needed for the lesson plan or simulation session.
