The honor was presented at a private ceremony at the #Montblanc House in Hamburg. Since November 2023, dozens extraordinary personalities have already been honored. The Hall of Future is an NPO that is committed to #QualityEconomy. It stands for #growth economy, and is a new economic direction that complements the centuries-old quantitative orientation of macro-, micro- and business economics . In 2025, the #book "Quality Economy" will be published by Springer Nature Group, one of the largest scientific publishers in the world. I had the pleasure of honoring exceptional individuals (the most analog, all digital), who usually do not see the award as the end of a life's work, but as a new start! Within the next days I will introduce more honored individuals. The Hall of Future member companies together (already since the first dozen honorees) represent more than half a #trillion euros in annual #revenue in more than 100 countries with more than 1 million employees. Scaling Innovation in the THE LÄND 🌍🚀 Baden-Württemberg is a leader in Innovation - similar to Massachusetts and California! 🌟🔝 My colleague Amanda Johansson from STUNS, Uppsala, makes this point in her joint study with the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft and its international partners. 121 regions were assessed based on 13 indicators, including business start-ups, research spending and patent applications. 📊📈 A well-deserved recognition for German innovation regions like Heilbronn. At the same time, we need more low-level studies that measure through- and output indicators. High numbers of new ventures, IP registrations, or research spending do not lead to transformation, let alone high-growth innovation-driven enterprises that we care about deeply at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The Engine 🏛️ Decision-makers' everyday life is at a fast pace, which is why they often compare apples and oranges. Hermann Hauser is one of the world’s greatest innovators, inventors and promoters of advanced technology. His reputation led to him being asked to report on how the UK could develop its own network of Technical Innovation Centres that had proven such a success in Germany. The result was the Catapults Network, including the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Since its formation, the Catapults have become a core part of the innovation-commercialisation ecosystem in the UK. Today I was at HANNOVER MESSE with a student group of our Master IT program. We visited the it's OWL booth as well as a lot of IT and OT companies. There are hardly any better ways to convey the importance of information technologies in industrial applications so clearly.
