We're focusing on sophisticated techniques from recent scholarly work on Controlled Decoding, which uses concepts like reinforcement learning and KL-divergence regularization. This method incorporates a reinforcement learning framework where a prefix scorer module predicts rewards to guide the generative process of a pre-trained language model. Importantly, it uses KL-divergence to ensure that the modified output distribution remains close to the original model’s predictions, maintaining linguistic quality while achieving specific output goals. Our goal is to further refine these techniques to boost the controllability and accuracy of the Gemini models' outputs. Sam Altman has been in the news recently for three reasons. He was fired by OpenAI, moved to Microsoft without taking part in any recruitment process, then reinstated by OpenAI. He's a prime example of the power of networking, personal brand building, leadership and delivering massive success. Apparently Microsoft could not headhunt Sam Altman due to an OpenAI and Microsoft business arrangement, but when he became unemployed, they swooped within hours. Whilst few of us may never reach his level, he is proof that investing in developing your personal brand, having a voice/making the right noises, and showcasing achievements really works. Nothing lasts forever. Do not be persuaded by your boss to the contrary. Do not become stagnant. Your current role is merely a stepping stone to your next (better) one! Keep your CV updated, find your voice, make noises in the right places, tell people about your successes, be proactive, network constantly and build your personal brand. You never know who's watching, and waiting for an opportunity to make an approach, and offer you something great - so be ready! Good luck.

The hidden job market is very real. 2. 80% of roles aren't advertised online because many of them don't even exist yet. 3. Your reputation is your most public resume. 4. Relationships give you access. 5. Leaders hire great talent as found - not as needed. 6. Companies will happily break the rules for exceptional talent. Become so good that companies want to create a role just for you. And build great relationships along the way to get access to more opportunities. There are more jobs available than you can see.
