Which Porsche AG Should I Order? 😄 HaHaHaHa, just kidding. 😄 Yesterday, I visited Connaught Place, one of Delhi's most luxurious and largest markets. There, I saw two beauties, powerhouses in their own right. 🚗💨 But why were these two most expensive Porsche India 's cars just parked outside the showroom, not inside? This type of marketing is called "Display Marketing." 📣 In simple words, products are used to show at the display or at any place to create curiosity about the product so that people will touch, feel, and click pictures of it. That also gives it organic marketing or word-of-mouth promotion. 💬 Porsche Cars North America india is doing the same, and it forced me to click a picture and write an article on it. All automobile advertising over the past couple of decades has become directionless and awful. I have been observing Mercedes-Benz advertising for many years now in India and it too has become ordinary and pedestrian. Launching a new Merc SUV with a headline that reads KNOW YOUR WAY is not merely dull, it is insulting the reader who is presumably a Mercedes-Benz customer. One would think that Mercedes-Benz customers are people who already know their way. Instead, the headline could have read: For those who know where they're going, a luxury carriage to take them there. Or: For those who know their way around, a luxury carriage with the power of 180 horses. The copy too is ordinary and not written the way one would address a luxury customer. Brings you all kinds of strength? Chase new horizons? What's this obsession with chasing, I wonder, and who writes like this? No idea which advertising agency is doing this work, but like I said, all automobile advertising including for luxury cars suffers from a lack of strategy, ideas, and even felicity with language. The black box for copy, with the headline screaming in all-caps just makes it worse! Not to mention the fact that it is in ToI and not in The Economic Times.

I grew up in a small town called Thrissur in Kerala. For a town of its size, Thrissur has many really wealthy people. While growing up, there were hardly 2-3 popular Indian brands of Cars. So, whenever you spotted a foreign car on the road, people used to pause and look. The wealthy folks of Thrissur will often have a Toyota Prado or Pajero. Those massive cars got people's attention. Once in a long while, you get to see a Lexus. That meant, the owner is old money. It epitomized luxury. Many a time, they were left hand driven and they had a rare number plate too. It screamed Opulence. Now, what does Lexus mean? We all know it is owned by Toyota. Apparently, they created Lexus to solve a problem. Toyota was perceived as a reliable, efficient brand in the United States. But, it was not perceived to be luxurious. So the company created a luxurious brand and called it simply LEXUS (Luxury Export to the US). I was hoping that the name would have some deeper meaning :). But, it did its job. ✈️ Change is never easy but after Tata bought Air India, it’s merger with Vistara was always on the cards! Saw the new brand identity? 👑 Just to clarify upfront, the Air India ‘Maharaja’ mascot hasn’t vanished. Maharaja will still be used inside the airlines and for business class + international flights. Maharaja was not in the earlier logo as well but had a larger role to play across brand assets and other touchpoints. 🆕 The new logo is called ‘The Vista’ and I think that’s the only association with Vistara that is left. The new Air India logo has no identity being carried forward of the Vistara brand except for the lighter gold colour being used. 🪟 The new logo is based on the ‘Window of Opportunities’ and the golden traditional windows (jharokhas seen in Rajasthan) theme. The idea of using a window to signify Limitless Possibilties goes with the aviation and travel category but keeping the half designed element on top of the logo made it look like an arrow or upward sign to me. I couldn’t identify it as a part of a window frame till I saw the brand film. 🎖 Booking flights is not something that a regular user would do every week and the important factors while considering an airline brand are price, convenience, quality of service. This makes it important for the new bold Air India to provide the best quality of service to flyers and maintain their aircrafts. 💬 People are always going to comment whenever a well-known brand decides a changeover since we have got accustomed to how it looked earlier. But in terms of an aircraft, looks is one thing and the actual physical experience is another. Just wanted to share an experience of being a marketing student is such a huge achievement for the beginning of career as it helps us build strong connections and grow more into the market. So here's my experience of visiting a Car Showroom ( Renault ) which I want to share with you. We got an assignment from our subject named Consumer Behaviour, to visit the car showroom, meet the sales person and ask them about their sales and how they managed from the beginning and how its going on ! So we ( me with my 2 group members ) were given a group assignment but we were not having any idea where or in which showroom to go. So we decided and went 1st in the Suzuki Showroom but there were no sales people available to talk with ! Later we went to the Tata Showroom but there was no permission to talk regarding these topics with outsiders We lost hope and thought to tell the teacher to give us another topic instead of this but still we thought to make a last try ! So at the end we went to Renault Showroom and there we got permission and we had a great communication and got to know them well. We asked a few questions and they answered them in such a way that we didn't get any doubts and queries regarding Renault. Our questions were : i. How many outlets of Renault are in Mumbai ? ii. Which new models of Renault are launching in 2023 ? iii. Which model is mostly sold or preferred by customers ? iv. During COVID-19 how did you manage to make an outcome and recover from the losses ? So this was our experience of visiting Renault Car Showroom. We had a great experience and enjoyed a lot from this given assignment. As it was our 1st experience so thought that we would end up messing but the result was great and knowledgeable and we built a good connection with them too.
