🌍 **Addressing Carbon Emissions in the Textile Industry: Join Us at ITM Exhibition!** 🌍 The textile industry is a significant contributor to global carbon emissions, and with the advent of carbon border taxes, the need for sustainable practices is more urgent than ever. 🌱 The European Union's (EU) Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a plan that gradually introduces a carbon emissions tariff to support the decarbonization of the EU industry. The initial phase requires importers to report the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions 🏭 of products sold into Europe, including textiles. Importers who don't report these emissions may face financial penalties. Some estimates suggest that a carbon tax on airfreighted goods could add US\$1.68 per item from Bangladesh to the UK and US\$2.65 per item from Bangladesh to the US East coas At **Beneks Makine ** we're committed to leading the charge towards a greener future. 🌍 Our innovative solutions are designed to significantly reduce carbon emissions, ensuring that your operations not only comply with evolving regulations but also contribute positively to our planet. BHARAT TEX TO BE AN ANNUAL AFFAIR I already posted earlier about the tremendous success of the maiden international mega textile exhibition Bharat Tex 2024 organised by the Ministry of Textile in association with the state governments and textile trade associations. The exhibition was organised within a shorter lead period of hardly 4 to 5 months due to which no one was sure about its success. However full credit goes to the organisers for the thumping success of Bharat Tex for effectively showcasing India's textile traditions as well as the innovative textile products including technical textiles. What more can you ask for than having nearly 3500 exhibitors (so far the highest) across the entire textile value chain, tremendous visitor response including nearly 3000 foreign buyers from 111 countries, 63 MOUs signed with foreign institutions for research, innovation, skilling and product development. It seems that the grand success of Bharat Tex has enthused the organisers to hold it every year, which I predicted in my earlier post on Bharat Tex. As per the press release by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Bharat Tex expo will be an annual affair. The success of India's mega exhibition Bharat Tex has come at a time when the industry had been under stress and needed some kind of a morale boost. This purpose has definitely been served by this exhibition. The tremendous visitors response including the foreign buyers gave hope to the exhibitors about the forthcoming opportunities for the textile industry. #india #textile #exhibition #mega #bharattex2024 #traditional #technicaltextiles #valuechain #exhibitors #buyers #mou #signing #aepc

The textile industry looks to China. It’s only 15 days to go until ITMA Asia + CITME 2022 opens its doors. China is obviously one of the world’s biggest textile markets, so it rightly draws the attention of the textile machinery industry. The Chinese market has experienced substantial growth and evolution, becoming a hub for both textile production and consumption. The Swiss machinery manufacturers have always adapted to the specific market situation there, and are now ready and able to support the future goals of China’s textile manufacturers. List of the members of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association exhibiting at upcoming ITMA Asia + CITME: https://lnkd.in/eq2cemVj Swiss companies realized many years ago that geographical proximity is the key to success. To overcome the 9,000 km distance by air between the two countries, they established Chinese subsidiaries, branches, offices, service stations, independent local businesses, and research centres. Swiss companies also understand that Chinese customers need cost-effective solutions to remain competitive. Energy savings are also now paramount in China, due to the government's commitment to environmental sustainability and reduced carbon emissions. The press release provides more information. https://lnkd.in/e82sZrgM The Chinese textile industry has a healthy appetite for new technologies and a determination to stay at the forefront of innovation. Cornelia Buchwalder, Secretary General of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association, is clear: “China is the main market for a large number of our association members.” #swisstextilemachinery #innovation #Switzerland #China #ITMAAsia #CITME #TextileIndustry Benninger Group Bräcker G.
