𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 -our European Commission proposal on the Horizon call HORIZON-HLTH-2023-CARE-04 'Resilience and Mental Wellbeing of the Health and Care workforce project'- is funded today! So proud -and so very honored to announce that we are funded with a 6.4M Euro EU Horizon Grant -in the capacity of being the Project Coordinator for Amsterdam UMC -Consortium Leader.   𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 aims to (re-)build wellbeing and resilience of the healthcare workforce in our EU hospitals in the surgical pathways, to promote onboarding as well as staying in the workplace by systematically researching factors and signals of job stress and novel mitigating solutions and by co-creating a multi-faceted non-digital, digital and AI-supported solution package to prevent burnout among (aspirant) healthcare professionals on the individual, team, and organizational level.   Why? Stress, on an individual, team and organizational level; is the biggest factor attributing to burnout among hospital healthcare workers. The mere anticipation of such stress prevents onboarding of new staff so much needed. Within healthcare, stressors are caused by various factors related to a heavy workload, administrative burden, poor working conditions, decline in workforce and emotional weight of the job. But what is stress for one individual, is not stress for another on. And also, we do not know well how to measure ongoing stress in our working environments. Nor are we able to choose and tailor solutions to prevent stress in our workforce well, or do we know what ‘level of stress’ exists in our hospitals (and how to mitigate this successfully). A relevant and very pressing issue, as we are simply not going to get more healthcare workers in our hospitals to care for all of us..   So I am truly grateful to have received this grant, now let’s get to work to enable our healthcare workers, from the operation room to the hospital wards, to keep on working -healthily! 👉 Feel free to reach out to me directly for more information or via keepcaring@amsterdamumc.nl Grant Beneficiaries and Associated Partners of KEEPCARING: University of Limerick Nuromedia GmbH Erasmus MC ECHAlliance - The Global Health Connector Chino.io University of Warwick Sjællands Universitetshospital Koncern Digitalisering, Region Sjælland Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences Italian National Research council, Italy, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche Universidade de Coimbra University of Tartu Healthy Mind Universidade Nova de Lisboa Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf Rigshospitalet european federation of nurses associations HOPE - European Hospital and Healthcare Federation European Union of Medical Specialists Grant Support by Kimberley Rentner Veronique Isabelle Dekker Isabelle Wartelle Dr. Sandra Z.
