Happy St George's Day to our St. George's Society of New York which was founded 254 years ago today… and big shout out to the community that has really made NYC feel like home 🗽 What better way to celebrate, than with our annual British Ball - an SGSNY tradition since our founding. This year, was held at the incredible The Pierre New York, A Taj Hotel - Sage Archipolo and team 🙏🏼 It was amazing to play a part in pulling this together with Anna Titley and Richard Sexton, MBE at Your Event People. Most importantly, over $1mn was raised for our charitable programmes woo woo. Safe to say, the bar has yet again been set!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Closing in on my 6 month mark at St. George's Society of New York, and halfway through my time in the big city... Feel honored to have met some of the amazingly brave children who come over to the City for cancer treatment, our incredibly bright scholars who we aid through their degrees, and to have bonded with some of the beneficiaries we support - one of which, yes did write me a poem named 'Katie the Intern.' I've particularly enjoyed helping out with so many of our key events and fundraisers; including our Pancake Day, AGM, Scholarship Reception, Speed Networking and the Rugby Legends gala. So proud to play a small part in such a historic and special Society that does so much good, and meeting incredible people along the way. Thank you to all the members who I’ve been able to lean on for guidance and mentorship. Roll on the next 6 months - and excited for what's next!

My first SGSNY annual British Bash is complete. Over 110k raised for us at St. George's Society of New York to continue supporting those who need it in the city, and honouring the amazing Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill - it was definitely a night to remember. Feeling super proud to be part of such a tiny yet impactful team, learning more and more every day about our society and its incredible members. Also, was a pleasure to put faces to the names of the many people I’ve been spamming with emails during my first couple of months. Now onto the next, after Your Event People and our team, did indeed smash the bash #BritBashNYC 🍎🇬🇧💃🏻

Officially landed in the Big Apple and thrilled to be starting my next adventure. So excited to not only get immersed in a new country and bring a bit of Lpool to NYC… but of course, to start my new role as Project Coordinator at St. George's Society of New York. Can’t wait for all there is to come, and to become part of such an incredible, life-changing team 💪🏼🇺🇸🍎

Feeling nostalgic as I finally leave Cusco after an unplanned, yet incredible 6 months there. 10 months into my travels, and I certainly didn’t think I’d fall in love with Cusco, and even more surprisingly fall in love with teaching English; had you asked me this time last year, I wouldn’t have had a clue. Initially terrified to teach adults, I’ve met some students that are now friends for life, I’ve found confidence in a new area, and I’ve grown my appreciation for life-long learning; it truly is never too late to start! Thank you to colleagues for pulling me in with open arms and allowing me to learn from the best. To the students for inspiring me daily, all the memories we’ve shared, and of course I hope you continue pursuing the language, with a slight Northern twang. For sure the hardest goodbye yet 🤍💙🙏🏼
