The European and Israeli tech ecosystem continues to be a powerhouse of innovation and ambition, with a flywheel of talent springing from existing unicorns. Our latest founder factory report, created in partnership with Dealroom.co, reveals that: ➡ 248 of the region’s unicorns have fuelled almost 1,500 tech-enabled startups as former employees become founders ➡ Spotify, Delivery Hero, Zalando and Criteo continue to rank in the top five, producing 151 new tech startups ➡ #fintech unicorns dominate the top 10, with Revolut, Klarna, N26 and Wise ranking fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth respectively as former employees have created 120+ new tech companies. Despite having the tech skills, a brilliant business idea, and plenty of seed money for a long time (the startup became a #unicorn), Emad resigned from the board and as CEO. Many of his top people also quit. What went wrong? Emad believes Stability AI can't compete with the startup structure of #OpenAI and #Anthropic. So, he threw the towel, leaving his successor to figure out what a startup business model truly needs to succeed. Most startups fall into the trap of mirroring the used car salesman business model: "I can sell stuff. People need cars. I can borrow ten grand from my brother-in-law to get me started." What that means: The Used Car Salesman Model: Being tech-savvy -> "I can sell stuff." Having a business idea -> "People need cars." Securing seed money -> "I can borrow ten grand from my brother-in-law to get me started." Most startups think that's enough to succeed.  And that is why 99% of startups fail!
