Just imagine the positive social and environmental impacts we can achieve if the coffee sector's supply chain is managed correctly. 1) Fair prices directly to small holder farmers and 2) Shade grown trees enabling afforestation and habitat preservation. Today we celebrate the International Day for Biological diversity, an initiative of the Unitednations offical. The global theme of this year is “Be part of the plan”, an international call out for all stakeholders to halt the loss of biodiversity. For Crop's 's , as a European leader in frozen vegetables & fruit, it is important as well to keep biodiversity high on the agenda, it is at the core of our activities: “Protecting and taking care of biodiversity is essential because having biodiverse ecosystems brings a lot of advantages: it enhances more resilience towards climate change, contributes to both pollination and pest control and improves the wellbeing of people.
