DST had a robust program in Healthcare- especially Pharma- which, for reasons unknown at least to me but apparently as it wasn't considered the appropriate domain, was slowly & systematically phased out. That way almost all the programs & schemes are adjunct to those of related line Ministries & Departments but most of them either do not have solid & time-tested real-time R&D funding platforms or just a cursory mechanism in place. Thank you, Mr. Secretary for reviving the interest In Healthcare....though DST has not a lead role to play its Availability but it can & should support Accessibility and Affordability!

Healthcare technologies. How about not eating GMO food or packaged state food. Do you really need to listen to americans on healthcare. Their whole nation is built on a cycle of eat unhealthy -> get sick ->health insurance -> expensive healthcare technologies -> suffer -> die

Great meeting and discussion. we would like to request DST Secretary Abhay Karandikar to kindly meet with Indian researchers who are struggling for their livelihood. Most funding agencies lack vision and concrete infrastructure for supporting research fellowships and grants. Despite many funding agency secretaries having explored foreign universities and understanding their infrastructure, these improvements have yet to be implemented in funding agencies…
