Thrilled to announce the participation of eminent faculties from ECE Department, IISc –Prof. K.V.S. Hari, Prof. KJ Vinoy,Prof. Neelesh Mehta, Dr. Sudhan Majhi, and Dr. Varun Raghunathan in the workshop on 'Sustainable & Secure UK-India Future Networks' which is being organized under UK-India Future Networks Initiative (UKI-FNI) in IIT Delhi on 19 & 20 October 2023 in hybrid mode.  The objective of this workshop is to enable the research participants to do a tech deep dive into future wireless, optical and satellite communications and the technical challenges and business opportunities involved, including the enhancement of the UK-India Future Networks Testbeds in India, inclusive of the one at IIT Delhi. It will have 4 tracks: PHY, Networks, Applications and Security. Expected outcomes of the workshop are : Identification and Conceptualization of project proposals aimed at jointly developing the plans, structure and priority research & innovation areas for a future 5-Year UK-India joint project in Future Networks.

DST organizes a national brainstorming session on “Transforming Science, Technology and Innovation Ecosystem of India” The Department of Science and Technology (DST) organized the session at the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi on May 22, 2024. The day-long discussions were centered on various key areas such as research and innovation; equity and inclusion; international cooperation; and the science, technology, and innovation governance. Experts from diverse fields participated in the event to deliberate on developing a robust and forward-looking science policy framework. PM Modi Awards ‘5G Use Case Lab’ to KIIT-DU Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday awarded a ‘5G Use Case Lab’ to KIIT-DU, enabling students and faculties to exploit opportunities and develop solutions in this lab for various sectors using the 5G technology.                                                                               Along with KIIT-DU, 99 other educational institutes across the country were awarded the 5G Use Case Labs by the PM.   Awarding the labs during the inauguration of the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress 2023 in Delhi, Modi exuded confidence that the 5G use labs will have a similar impact as the 10,000 Atal tinkering labs exposing about 75 lakh children to cutting-edge technology. “These labs prompt the youth to dream big and give them the confidence to achieve them,” he added.   According to a government statement, the labs are an endeavor to realize the opportunities associated with 5G technology by encouraging the development of 5G applications that cater, both to India’s unique needs as well as the global demands.   The unique initiative will foster innovation across various socioeconomic sectors like education, agriculture, health, power, transportation, etc, and propel the country to the forefront of the usage of 5G technology.   The initiative is also a pivotal step for building a 6G-ready academic and start-up ecosystem in the country. More importantly, the initiative is a step towards developing indigenous telecom technology which is critical for national security. #kiituniversity
