The European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) recently convened a high-profile meeting with Premier Dr. Chen Chien-Jen at the Executive Yuan. Key participants, including opening remarks by Chairman Mr. Giuseppe Izzo, CEO Freddie Hoeglund, and committee co-chairs, engaged in discussions covering crucial topics. The meeting highlighted the benefits of onshore wind energy projects, emphasizing their cost-efficiency and speedy implementation, with a call for government support. Concerns were raised about healthcare resource allocation relative to Taiwan's growing GDP. Equal welfare for Alien Permanent Resident Certificate (APRC) holders, and EV infrastructure improvements, were also discussed. Lastly, the meeting focused on offshore wind energy particularly in job creation and investment. The ECCT remains committed to closely collaborating with Taiwanese authorities to promote sustainable growth, innovation, and a thriving business environment in Taiwan.
