In 1972, we could have just gotten away without stating our first environmental declaration at UN’s first Environment Conference in Stockholm. But we did it anyway. In 1976, our engineers could have invented something else than the three-way catalytic converter with the Lambda sensor, which reduced harmful emissions by up to 90 percent. But we did it anyway. In 1991, we could have just built cars without banning CFC from our car fleet, 19 years before the world followed suit. But we did it anyway. In 2018, Volvo Cars engine plant in Sweden could have been operational without being climate-neutral. But we did it anyway. In 2019, our vision could have been to sell more cars than to commit to becoming carbon neutral by 2040. But we did it anyway. We did all of the above and more because sustainability is fundamental to how we do business at Volvo Car India and our ambition has always been to lead by example. As a mobility provider, we recognize that we have a responsibility to act. Having delivered 1000+ fully electric cars, we're on the right track to our goal of going fully electric by 2030. Staying true to the meaning of our name, we move forward in helping create a world that is safer for you, the environment, and the planet. That's why this #WorldEnvironmentDay, it's our responsibility as stakeholders of our planet to do more and help reduce our impact on the planet, starting now. #Sustainability #FutureIElectric #VolvoCars
