How Do They Get The Cork In The Champagne Bottle ? You may be wondering how to get a cork with a larger diameter into the opening of a bottle with a much smaller diameter. The corks of champagne bottles are known for their elasticity and compressibility. Corks can be easily compressed at the cellular level when inserted into a bottle; as soon as they are pushed into place, they expand and form a tight seal.

New product: Rinaldo Lithos YY Titania, Rusticated Apple Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked As with so many of today’s premier Italian workshop makes, the story of Rinaldo begins at Mastro de Paja. The latter was a workshop founded by Giancarlo Guidi (later of Ser Jacopo) and Giannino Spadoni (later of Fiamma di Re), which the brothers Elio and Guido Rinaldo worked for as teenagers in the 1970s. At the end of the 1980s, the two departed Mastro de Paja to found their own make under their surname. Thus, Rinaldo was born. I should know better by now, but I’ll admit I’m always surprised – not to mention impressed – that makes with such close “family trees” as the Italian workshops are nonetheless all very different in the styles they pursue. The Lithos is Rinaldo’s partially rusticated series, however Rinaldo’s rustication wears a two-tone dark-grey (rough sections) and scarlet (smooth) stain. This Lithos is paired with a more typically Italian lucite stem (though still with more color to it than most). As for the rest of the nomenclature, “Y” is Rinaldo’s grading system, running from “Y” to “YYYY” on rusticated pipes, while “Titania” is, as the word implies, for larger than average pipes. This one is indeed quite big, but still a reasonable enough size for the average smoker to enjoy. This Rinaldo is also completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating from the Rinaldo workshop. It also comes with its original box and sleeve. Details: Length: 6″ / 152.4mm Bowl Width: 0.86 / 21.84mm Bowl Depth: 1.86″ / 47.24mm Weight: 2.9oz / 84g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/klvcMc #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

New product: Peder Jeppesen Ida Sandblasted Straight Brandy Estate Briar Pipe, 9mm Peder Christian Jeppesen is an artisan pipe-maker from Denmark. Beginning his career in the workshops of Karl Erik and Erik Nording, he later began a solo career under his own name, as well as under the ‘Neerup’ Moniker. In the years since, Jeppesen has come to be recognized as one of Denmark’s premium carvers, including through his partnerships with Erik Stokkebye and the 4th Generation brand. Before he subdivided his high-grade pipes into the Ida Easy Cut and Boutique lines, Peder Jeppesen’s high-grades were his Idas (without ‘Easy Cut), while his Neerups were his standard-grade pipes. This Ida is from that period. Named after his daughter, the Ida series was an outlet for Peder’s most creative explorations of hand-made pipe carving, often featuring silver ornaments (as this one does) and labor-intensive finishes such as contrast stains (as this one has. The shape of this one is a very Danish brandy, with a distinctly broad base and an unconventionally narrow shank in proportion to its bowl. There is more than a little of Karl Erik’s style in this one – though there’s nothing wrong with paying tribute to one’s teachers. The condition is very good. There’s a little rim darkening, and some chatter on the stem, but I wouldn’t call it major. The pipe is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, but would likely accommodate an adapter of some variety, if its next owner would prefer to use it without one. Details: Length: 5.6″ / 142.2mm Bowl Width: 0.85 / 21.59mm Bowl Depth: 1.6″ / 40.64mm Weight: 1.9oz / 56g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/5jNWdA #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd

How to Stretch a Cowboy Hat Click https://lnkd.in/d9yybr8M to check out Bits N' Spurs for Country Western News: Keeping Pace with Today's Rodeo How to Stretch a Cowboy Hat: There are lots of different ways to stretch a cowboy hat. Spray, Stretch, Steam, & Shape One method is the Spray and Stretch. Spritz the crown, inside and out, then dry with a blow dryer until the hat is nearly dry. Place the hat on your head and let it air dry. Another option is to use steam. Boil water in a kettle. Once it's steaming, hold the hat over the steam for about a minute (right over the inside of the band). Let the hat sit for 30 minutes—don't put it on your head when hot! Repeat 4-5 times, then dry the hat with a blow dryer. While the hat is still damp (not hot), put it on and let it air dry.

New product: Vauen 3783 Smooth Volcano Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day. I almost kept this Vauen for myself. It’s such a distinct shape – somewhere between a volcano, a poker, and a tankard (or, fittingly, a German beer stein) – and it has a little more going for it than the average Vauen. The pipe has some beautiful bird’s-eye and cross-grain patterns underneath its ruby red stain, as well as a silvery trim at the end of its shank. The rim is also beveled, which I’ve always found to be a nice touch. On a last note, one thing I particularly enjoy about the shaping is that, while the pipe is a sitter, its composition ensures that, while it is sitting on a flat surface, the mouthpiece won’t come into contact with that surface. It’s just another thing not to have to worry about when sat around a table outside, for instance. This Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first smokes. It also comes with its original box and sleeve. As with most Vauen pipes, it is chambered for 9mm filters, such as Vauen’s own or Savinelli’s balsa filters. It should also accommodate some variety of adapter for non-filter use, if the user prefers. Details: Length: 5.2″ / 132.0mm Bowl Width: 0.79 / 20.06mm Bowl Depth: 1.41″ / 35.81mm Weight: 1.9oz / 56g 👉🏽👉🏽Pipe Link: https://nuel.ink/KQCoLL #pipesmoking #pipes #tobaccopipe #pipesmoker #pipetobacco #tobacco #smokingpipe #briarpipe #briar #smoking #pipemaker #pipecollector #artisanpipes #mbsd
