For the past few months I have been getting lot enquiries from students/ professionals having background in data analytics asking if they would be a good fit for roles related to master data analyst. It will be fair to say that these two roles don’t have much in common. If you are applying for a mid senior level position as a master data analyst then the company might expect you to have some domain experience in handling master data in any kind of ERP tool (like SAP in Viatris). Without a prior experience, I think your chances for a mid senior position would be slim to none. Having said that there is no harm in applying for these positions in associate or entry level. Bottom line: “DATA ANALYST” positions are not same as “MASTER DATA” analyst.

Dear network, My current contract with the wonderful telecom company Sunrise and fantastic YOL/Flanker Brands team is drawing to a close this February. Consequently, I am on the lookout for a new role. As a self-driven data analyst, I am skilled at working both independently and as an integral part of a team. My expertise extends to Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and other RDBMS platforms. Just point me in the right direction. 😃 One important aspect of my work is to simplify outputs to help people digest numbers more easily. I focus on explaining how individuals can independently work with existing datasets to extract new information. This involves translating complex data into more accessible and understandable formats, such as visual graphs or simplified reports. By doing so, I aim to empower users to not only understand the data at a glance but also to become proficient in navigating and manipulating the datasets themselves. To achieve this, I develop intuitive tools and interfaces, along with providing comprehensive guidance and tutorials. These resources are designed to equip users, regardless of their technical background, with the skills necessary to uncover valuable insights from the data. Furthermore, I customize these tools to meet the specific needs of different user groups, ensuring that the data analysis is relevant and directly applicable to their unique contexts. Ultimately, my goal is to bridge the gap between complex data sets and actionable knowledge, enabling informed decision-making based on a solid understanding of the underlying data. One of my incomplete gestalt is in SAP, with a direct focus on data extraction and visualization in MS Excel/VBA.
