𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: 𝗔 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! ☔️ It was great joining this past Saturday the "youth hiking library" on Kallang Riverside Park. This "hiking mentorship event" was organised by the Singapore Mentorship Committee (SMC) – a program that fosters collaboration between young minds and experienced business leaders. Unlike some of the other attendees (especially the mentees!), my dive into the world of computers started a little later – late teens to be exact. This different starting point gave more perspective to the sharing and made the discussions even more engaging. Special thanks to Chao Deng, CEO of HashKey Capital and President of HashKey Singapore, for sharing his insights as the guest speaker. And thank you to Dr. David Ong, the Founder & Chairman of SMC, for facilitating the networking and keeping the positive vibes flowing despite the unexpected weather. Some questions for further investigations: ▶ What's the future for cryptocurrencies like bitcoin? Have they failed as mainstream currencies but thrived as investable assets, evolving into a different type of financial instrument? ▶ Can the tokens, as evidences of your contributions, be considered the underlying assets of crypto moneys, and the benefits behind them? Security tokens and NFTs certainly represent ownership in underlying assets, offering a clear benefit. But how does the value proposition differ for the tokens utility (i.e.: to participate in the network's operations) and governance (i.e.: to vote on proposed changes, upgrades, or new features for the blockchain network or decentralised application)? ▶ Does Global Readiness transform into a key skillset for future success in our world becoming more globalised? This idea shared by Dr. David Ong of "global readiness" being a skillset resonated deeply with me. It's not just about location; it's about adaptability, cultural awareness, and the ability to thrive in diverse environments. It's a unique and fast-growing region that offers a lot to learn, making it an exciting and productive trip. 👨💻 Vlad Lebediev, our Acting Business Development Team Lead, shared his fresh thoughts after the conference: 💬 "The African market is one of the fastest-growing markets globally in iGaming. Therefore, it's important to keep up with its development and stay in touch with current trends and tendencies. During the last meetup with IIBA Cameroon, a Project manager asks some advices on how to proceed if we identify important gaps in the analysis of requirements on most of the company projects. I am recommending the following actions: 👉 Train and understand the skills required for business analysis 👉 Look at some colleagues in the company who can be interested by this role and onboard them in this learning journey. Sometimes the Personal assistants of your boss can also be happy to add such skills to their resume 😉 . 👉 If no colleague is interested, check the possibility to recruit interns who will execute while you are coordinating and reviewing their work. Once it has been proven that you have more impact on the quality of the outcome and an improvement on the timeline, you can liaise with the top management to get an additional and permanent resource who will handle business analysis tasks. 💡 The main idea here for project manager is to find a way to delegate and coordinate rather than doing it yourself which shall be the option in the worst scenario.
